I was given a Amazon fire stick from my dad as a gift and he paid cash for it. I work construction and travel a lot. I have had the fire stick for three weeks and it just quit working .I looked online to see how to possibly fix it and I had absolutely no luck .I went to Best buy in my home town in Paducah KY and took the item with me. I explained what was going on and that it was bought as a gift from my dad. The store employee told me that he would be right back with me . Upon his return ten minutes later he proceeded to tell me that if a warranty wasn't purchased they couldn't help me .Well my dad is 74 yes old and doesn't keep up with receipts or never gets any warranties on anything . Call him old school . so I'm sitting here with a fire stick three weeks old and can't use it. I was appalled with the customer service at best buy and their way of handling this issue. So I was wondering what Amazon or anyone can do to help me out with this issue. I really loved the fire stick while it was working and would love to have another one. Just need a little information on what to do. Thank you

Greetings, Jamie1975 –
Streaming is my favorite way to catch-up on all my favorite shows! I’m sorry hear after a few weeks your Amazon - Fire TV Stick stopped working. We’d be happy to see what further insight we can shed on this for you.
Our Return & Exchange Promise shares that we’d be unable to accept items outside policy. I’m sorry if your local Best Buy Paducah didn’t provide any further insight how Amazon may be able to offer some additional help. Under your manufacturer’s warranty Amazon should offer some troubleshooting assistance, and their further assistance if the troubleshooting is unsuccessful. I highly recommend checking out Amazon’s Device Support options here. Let us know if you have any further questions, and we’d be happy to see how we can help you answer them.

Hi again Jamie1975,
Mariah isn’t available just now, so I’ll be helping you out in her place. As she mentioned, our Return & Exchange Promise gives most customers a 15- day window to return most products. If you are an Elite or Elite Plus My Best Buy member, that can be extended to 30 or 45 days. If you think you may qualify under that extension, please reach out to me with a private message by using the link in my signature below this post. I’d need your name, email address, phone number and the customer service PIN from the bottom of your receipt.
If the Fire Stick is not within the return period, you would need to rely on Amazon’s manufacturer’s warranty. You can find information on that warranty here.
Regardless, I apologize for the poor experience you had at your local store. We should have taken the time to explain this to you. Thanks for letting us know about this. Feedback like yours really helps us improve the service we offer.

Hi again Jamie1975,
If you father would like to reach out to us we can try to find a copy of his receipt to see if the Fire Stick qualifies for an exchange through us. Otherwise, please reach back out to Amazon to see if they are able to provide you with a repair or replacement through their manufacturer’s warranty.
