I bought an Ecovac vacuum and after 3 months, the item stopped working. I thought I was lucky since I had the protection plan. I called Geek Squad, and they said that if I take it to the store, they would repair it for me or they would exchange the product for me. I asked them if my protection plan would carry over to the exchanged product, and the agent said yes it would.
Went to the store, they saw the issue and said I could get it exchanged. Which I did, but later found out that my protection plan was canceled. I chatted with geek squad and the agent was not helpful. He just kept stating that my protection plan was canceled, and I asked by who? he kept repeating that it was canceled. I asked, ok since I paid for the 2-year plan, I should be given a pro-rated refund. He said, no refunds for plans that are canceled. I am not sure if I am dealing with some support team from another country, but they are useless. I called them and they kept running me around in circles, transferring me to one agent after another... I will never ever buy from best buy again... Waste of money!!

With technology, sometimes you never know what could happen. That is one reason why I love our Geek Squad Protection so much. While I am not sure why you would have been advised otherwise, if we replace your item under your Geek Squad Protection, we would consider that plan fulfilled and it would not transfer over to your new device.
