I purchased an Asus laptop last year on 11/29/22. I was under the impression that this would feature the standard 1 year manufacturer warranty. After having an issue with the device (not sure exactly, just won't turn on anymore) I took it in for service. Initially it seemed that the device would be repaired under warranty, but now I am being told that because the items was sold as "Open Box" the manufacturer warranty has expired because the warranty period starts when the first person purhcases the item. I cannot find any information on the Best Buy website that indicates that this. Can someone point me towards this policy?
This feels extremely misleading as there is no indication of when the warranty period started when purchasing Open Box items.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
