No repair update 12 days after I dropped receiver off

The repair is for an Onkyo receiver I bought 6 mos or so ago. Dropped it off 2 nov and on 14 nov it only shows its on its way to the service facility. We have all the protection plans Best Buy offers. So, did the thing even make it there, is it lost in shipping, are they working on it or is it on its way back? Just a few questions that would be answered by a simple status update!! This is just not cool!! Why should I pay thru the nose if you cant keep your end of the deal? I was promised regular updates so why are they not posted?
