No lemon Law

[ Edited ]

We purchased on 9/20/2015.our Samsung refrigerator model number is RF28HFEDBSR.  The S/N is {removed per forum guidelines}..Unfortunately, after 4 repairs while under extended warranty the refrigerator ice maker still does not work correctly. Currently we are buying ice and putting it in the bin.  The repairs were done 6/5/2018, 3/22/19, 6/29/19, 3/30/20.each time repairing and replacing the unit.  All repairs were done under our extended warranty.

Apparently, this is a known issue with this model of Samsung and several other models. with the last repair the repair man followed step by stop for the repair. per Samsung... In finding a Samsung Refrigerator community on Facebook I felt that I need to contact you. Especially since it was noted on there that Best Buy does have a NO LEMON law.  When talking to the manager of the department of our local Best Buy store he stated that Best Buy DOES NOT have a no lemon law., yet on the Samsung refrigerator community they got a replacement after 3 repairs for the same issue. So that confuses me.  I do not want to pay for an additional repair and especially since it did not take care of the issue 4 times.  It makes me uncomfortable about buying any appliance from Best Buy.

Re: No lemon Law

Hello, Sharshe,

Thank you for visiting our online community. In my household, we use the ice and water from our refrigerator frequently, so I understand why you’d also want those features to remain functional. Having Geek Squad Protection (GSP) is a great peace of mind, as that coverage often helps with unexpected failures. The GSP does include a No-Lemon Benefit, although accessory repairs, such as ice makers, would not be considered a Qualified Repair for that benefit.

If it would help for me to review the repair history, you’re welcomed to send a Private Message. Please be sure to include your full name, email address, and telephone number. To send a Private Message, simply select the darker blue icon, which is located across from my signature.

Best,
