My 5 Year Geek Squad Protection plan was cancelled after a 2nd Repair....Why?

I purchased a 65" Sony TV on 11/2017 along with a 5 year warranty from Best Buy.

 

In October of 2018 my tv started to blink in and out for a few seconds, I would still have sound...but no picture. I was advised by a Geek Squad Rep that I might want to get a new cable box to resolve this issue.

 

In March of 2020 my TV lost total picture and Best Buy setup a repair Order #{removed per forum guidelines} to replace the motherboard and that was completed on June 4, 2020 in my home.

 

I begin to experience the same issues after the June 2020 and proceeded to contact Best Buy for assistance.  I was advised to contact my cable provider and replace my cable box.  I contacted my cable provider and a technician came out and replaced the cable box August 2020.   

 

My TV started blinking out again and a repair was setup to replace the motherboard again, and was completed on January 27, 2021.

 

Today...I received an email that my Protection Plan was being cancelled...although it isn't due to expire until January 2022.

 

I don't understand...but after I contacted Geek Squad for a 2/17th appointment...my Plan was cancelled.

 

Can someone help?

The plans have a $ limit. When it is reached they consider the plan fullfilled

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear that you were having a few issues with your TV, that is definitely never fun. A Geek Squad Protection Plan (GSP) is a great way to protect your tech, and I am happy to hear you were able to utilize this for some repairs! 

 

As nckhammond mentioned, the plans are considered fulfilled after a certain point. I'd be happy to take a closer look into this and determine if that was the cause, or if something else may be going on.
