We offer a 14-day Return & Exchange Promise for major appliances. Since you mentioned that you received this order five months ago we would be unable to process an exchange as you requested.
Did you purchase a Geek Squad Protection Plan with this washer and dryer? If so, the Geek Squad should be able to assist you in looking for repair or replacement options. If not, I would recommend working with Maytag support for more details on what options are available moving forward.
