I purchased an Open Box Alienware Dell PC ("satisfactory" condition - no box but had mouse and keyboard) last Friday. I was told on chat and in person at the store that the PC should have one year manufacturer's warranty from date that I purchased it. When I went to Dell site to register the PC, the previous owner had registered the PC in October of 2018. Dell needed that person's info to transfer the remaining warranty to me. They said to contact Best Buy to get the original manufacturer's warranty of one year restarted in my name. Best Buy chat later confirmed I should have full one year manufacturer's warranty and gave me a phone number of Geek Squad and case number that could resolve this. However - when I contacted Best Buy at that number - I was bounced between 3 departments. The call finally resulted in the rep telling me they could not help with the manufacturer's warranty.
Can you help? I can provide case ID and order number privately. Thanks.

Hello there, markwms!
Welcome to our community! Having issues with your computer's manufacturer warranty can definitely be concerning, so I can understand you wanting to get to the bottom of this. While we aren't able to modify the manufacturer warranty that is provided with your computer, as that is all handled through the manufacturer directly, we would be happy to look into this for you and see what we can do to help!
I'd like to look into this for you, but will need some information to begin. If you will please send me a private message that includes the following, I’ll do my best to help:
