Lost Drone

I purchased a Mavick Pro Drone in Sept 2018, I also purchsed the extended warranty.  I returned the drone to the store for repair on December 27 2018.

 

I is now past the estimated due date that I was given for the repair to be completed.  I could not get a firm answer from anyone as to how long I need to wait.  I called DJI.  Though they could talk to me with the case number provided by Best Buy they could not locate my drone.  My drone is apparently lost.

 

I was informed that none of the Best Buy stores in my state had a replacement for my Mavik Pro.  I was offered the "opportunity" to upgrade and required to pay the difference.  At this point my $500 warranty was worthless and I was compelled to buy the upgrade to avoid leaving empty handed.  I would like to see my drone repaired, if possible.  I will buy it back if it can be found.  It has information onboard that can only be retrieved by DJI. 

 

I am required by FAA laws to retain the information onboard my drone. 

 

I feel that I was forced into an upsell and Best Buy avoided satisfying the warranty.  I spent a lot more money for  just a little more drone and no warranty.

My understanding is that, in the event that an exchange is approved and the same item or comparable item is not available, you may be offered credit for the current value of the item, as determined by Best Buy. If there is a difference in price between the credit provided and the item you were interested in replacing it with, that may likely be where the pricing difference would come into effect.
