LED Backlighting


 To Whom It May Concern:


     I purchase a Hisense 43" 4k TV from Best Buy Oceanside CA in 05/11/2018 and after a about a year the TV started turning blue. I continued to use the tv for the next year and a half unsure of the issue or what to do. After finally researching issues for repair I became aware or the 2015 Consumer Acts Rights that states that elctronics such as a tv should be good for a lifespan of about 6 years and that i am entitled to an exchange or repair. the TV is in perfect condition besides the backlighting and I am asking for an exchnage. I am aware that Best Buy has 28 days to resolve the issue. I thank you for your time.

Outside of the return period, you would need to work with Hisense, the manufacturer and warranty provider of the television in order to determine your option. Best Buy would not be part of this process.

With that said, TVs are no different than other types of electronics. They have a warranty (usually a year) from the manufacturer. While some last a long time, inevitably some fail prematurely. This is why Best Buy has our Geek Squad and why we offer Geek Squad Protection plans on items purchased through us.

He didn't mention that the act he referenced is for the United Kingdom... Best buy doesn't do business there and all Thier products are designed for use in the United States so it would not apply anyway.
