Insignia Voice Speaker

Hi. We purchased on 02.02.2019 a Voice Speaker Insignia at Best Buy on 5th Avenue in New York (Maikon salesperson). I asked if the product worked in Brazil. The answer was positive. The product does not work. We have already contacted Insignia (1-877-467-4289). we performed all the requested procedures, but the equipment did not work. Finally, they said the equipment should have been set up in the US. However, this information was not passed on by the Best Buy employee at the time of the negotiation of the product. There is no way to change the equipment, as suggested by Insignia, since we live in Brazil. We expect Best Buy to solve our problem.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for reaching out to us.  I love my Insignia Voice Speaker and use it everyday to automate my routines, including my morning alarms, checking the weather, and turning on/off my lights.  I'm sorry to hear that yours isn't working as expected after being told it would work overseas.

 

With apologies, products purchased at Best Buy stores or on BestBuy.com are intended to be used within the U.S. and are not guaranteed to work internationally.  I apologize if you were informed otherwise by our store associates.  You can attempt to factory reset your Insignia Voice Speaker by pressing and holding the microphone button on the back of the product for 12 seconds, and then try setting it up from scratch again.  That said, I can't guarantee it will work in Brazil as previously mentioned.

 

As it sounds like you're still within your return period, you are welcome to return the product for a refund.  However, we do not currently accept returns by international mail, so you would need to mail the product to a friend or family member who lives in the U.S. and could return it to a Best Buy store on your behalf.  I realize this may pose an additional inconvenience to you, and for that, I sincerely apologize.

Hello,
This is a very convenient position for Best Buy. They go out of their way to sell their products. They knew that who was buying was foreign (Brazil) and even so they sold the product without no worrying about the functionality in another country. I have no "friends" in the United States, so I can not send the product for exchange. I'm sorry this is the treatment of a foreigner. This will serve to no longer buy at Best Buy and, likewise, guide potential buyers in Brazil of the treatment provided by this company. I renew protest votes against Best Buy. Kind regards. I truly hear where you're coming from on this and am deeply apologetic for the obvious inconvenience this created.  I wish we had another option to offer you at this point in time for a return or exchange.  While I can't guarantee a particular outcome, you are welcome to contact Insignia Support at (877) 467-4289 to help troubleshoot these issues in real time.

Hi. I've already contacted Insignia support. We have already done all the possible tests. Nothing worked. They want me to pay $ 70.00 to send a new product. That's more than I paid at Best Buy. I only point out that there were 10 bluethoof clock radio models. I have asked the Best Buy seller to indicate the best product. How bored. Now I have to deal with the loss. A pity that Best Buy has this treatment for Brazilians. If I were an American, it would certainly be different. I'm sorry.
