I will no longer spend another dollar at best buy

I purchased a xbox one x 13 months ago from my local bestbuy store and last night the hdmi port on the console went out. When I purchased the console I also paid an extra $50 dollars for a two year extended warranty. Today I took the console in to have it looked at by the geek squad and he told me it would be 4 weeks to have it repaired. This is ridiculous, I told him I had the warranty and I just needed the console replaced but he told me bestbuy wont do that due to people sabotaging there electronics and trying to get them replaced. I am a reasonable person and understand that but I obviously did not cause any damage to the console the only thing that's wrong with it is the hdmi port. I am a hardcore gamer and considered bestbuy one of my favorite store to shop unfortunately now I will never spend another dollar at any bestbuy store. These days we have alot of options in where we shop for our video games, console's and accessories. I am also one of the leaders of a large video game community and will let all the members know to choose a different option then bestbuy when purchasing there gamer gear.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for reaching out to us regarding your Xbox One X. Having an HDMI port stop working would be most frustrating, but I'm sure you were relieved to remember you had a Geek Squad Protection (GSP) Plan for the console. These plans should leave our customers feeling confident in their purchase and repair when their devices malfunction, rather than leaving you feeling more frustrated. 

 

Under our GSP terms and conditions, we will typically attempt to repair a product before simply replacing it. This is why your Xbox would need to have been sent out for service. However, I understand being without your console for any time frame may only add to the frustration. At this time, I would encourage you to schedule a drop off at your local store to drop off your Xbox One X for service. I understand this may not be the news you were hoping for when you visited the store or posted here, and appreciate the feedback you've provided.

Thank you for your reply to my post. I guess I get what i paid for. Lesson learned on my behalf. I will go ahead and order my clan worldwide to no longer do business with any bestbuy locations. In the past I have had a xbox one go out that was purchased at gamestop with the warranty. They replaced it the same day. I was just hoping bestbuy would live up to the same customer loyalty as there competitor.
