I phone support through Geek Squad I'd rather go to the Apple Store

I went to Best Buy in St. Pete to have my iPhone looked at since it said on Apple's web site that Best Buy was an authorized repair place. I was having issue hearing the caller so I brought it in. I explained to them that it has happened before and that Apple just cleaned it up and then it worked fine. I didn't want to do it myself because I didn't want to screw something up and break warranty. Anyways, the Geek Squad told me they cleaned it up and then ran a diagnostic check and they told me that there were 5 different things that failed in the diagnostic check and that I would need to get a new phone. I wanted a second opinion so I brought it to Apple today. The representative at Apple took it to the back and cleaned it up and ran the diagnostic as well. This time it passed with flying colors. My suggestion is that if you have an issue with an iPhone take it to Apple. It's worth the wait to get an appointment. The Geek Squad rep was very nice and professional but I got better technical service with Apple. I feel bad for anyone who would have taken his opinion as Gospel because they would have purchased a new phone when the phone was working fine.

 

I will definitely continue buying at Best Buy however will not bring my iPhone there for repair

Conflicting diagnostics are always a tricky situation. We are always working to align with the service offered directly through Apple when it comes to Apple products. I’m happy to hear that Apple was able to get your phone back working correctly after the checked it out, and I appreciate you letting us know that they were able to get it working when we weren’t. Thank you for your response. Like I stated before the Geek Squad representative that worked on my iphone was very nice and professional. I will definitely give you guys another opportunity for other electronic devices I have. Have a great day
