Thanks for thinking of Best Buy when looking at upgrading your HP laptop. I know how important it is to have a computer that fits your needs when you’re in school. That being said, nckhammond is correct that the CPU on your laptop isn’t upgradable. When they say the CPU is an integrated part, that means that it is soldered directly onto the motherboard and they wouldn’t be able to remove it.
If your current laptop isn’t fast enough for your school needs, I would suggest taking a look at our Laptop Buying Guide to help narrow down what kind of laptop you need for school. The guide goes over things like technical specifications and operating systems so you can be well informed about what sort of options are out there. Alternatively, you are always more than welcome to go into one of our locations to speak to one of our representatives and take a peek at our computer display models. While I’m sure this isn’t the answer you were looking for, I hope it has been helpful. If you have any other questions or concerns please just let me know and I’ll be more than happy to do what I can to help.
All the best,
