I bought a “refurbished” MacBook for my son on 10/24/2018, a gave it to him as a gift not knowing about their 15 day return policy. By the time my son spent a few days with it, and figured out that it was an 8 year old, not refurbished computer, that was very glitchy and slow, and can’t hold a charge.i called Best Buy and they informed me of their 15 return policy, which I would understand if it’s an item you changed your mins about, but this is not the case. I have tried to sell the computer online, and it sells for half of what I paid. I’m so disappointed, now I don’t have the money to buy my son a new computer. He needs it for school and can’t even use it cause it doesn’t hold a charge. All I wanted to do was bring it back for my money back. They told me to have Apple fix it under warranty... seriously?! You shouldn’t have sold it to me in the first place. I’ve spent a lot of money here over the years, NEVER AGAIN,

Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. I’m sorry about the issues that you’re having with your MacBook.
Many of our refurbished product come with a 90-day warranty, however it sounds like even that will be expired by now. However, I’d like to double check for that, and to look into your other concerns about the computer, including the age.
Please send me a private message through the link in my signature below this post. I’ll need your name, email address, phone number, and order number. If you have the serial number from the computer, that may help as well.
I’ll be out of the office until Sunday, but I can follow up with you then, if I’m not able to today.

Yep, it’s a bummer. I paid half for it, convinced my mom to buy it at Best Buy instead of off of Craigslist, because I thought it would be a good deal. Turns out it was not, and they are not willing to honor the return. Now we are out $700. All we wanted to do was return 30 days later for a refund.

Nckhammond I’m not sure why you are so interested in this post, rest assure I have been private messaging them. This has been ongoing since October and still is not resolved. Thank you for your detective work though.

Thanks but no thanks for wasting my time and giving me false hope that BeSt Buy would take back this old, obsolete MacBook they sold me, that does not even take the newest Apple update. After messaging back and forth for several days explaining my situation and verify my purchase, I was regurgitated the same Canned speech I’ve been told since November. I know about your 15 day return policy, and NO THANK you to your 90 day warranty that was offered, I shouldn’t have to repair the thing that I just bought! You guys are the worst! You sold me a piece of crap that I can’t even sell on eBay or craigslist.
