HP Warranty Coverage Question

I have an HP laptop with a suspected hardware issue in need of diagnostics and possibly repairs. I just want to make sure that Best Buy is a certified HP service provider. Since the laptop is still under the 1-year warranty, I want to be sure that I won't be charged if I go through Best Buy. The hp service centers listed on their website are much farther away from me than my local Best Buy.

Re: HP Warranty Coverage Question

The short answer is yes: however you would want to ask the store directly. If you didn't buy it from bestbuy or get the geek squad support they won't always take it in. Also many repairs are sent off to the service center. It may be faster to send it directly to HP.

Re: HP Warranty Coverage Question

Hi there, screasey05,

Welcome to our community forums. As someone who uses a computer nearly every day, I know any sort of problems can be a big deal. If I were in your shoes I know I'd want to make sure I was aware of what options were available for repair. I'd be happy to give you some more information about this process.

In some cases, the Geek Squad is able to fulfill a manufacturer warranty by working directly with them. I would recommend scheduling a in-store reservation so they Geek Squad so they can inspect and diagnose this laptop and provide the most accurate information on how to move forward.

I hope I was able to clear this up! Please let me know if you have any other questions I can help with!
