I recently purchased an HP Spectre X360 from Best Buy, new from package. The laptop has since been running hot with fans blowing often if not all the time. I'm concerned this us unnatural, regardless of other multiple complaints you can find simply googling this problem. I do not want to give Best Buy or myself the trouble of going through a return/exchange for a new product if it is not a serious problem, but I can't seem to find a way to compare my laptop heating to others. Any suggestions?

Hello there, Frantic_Hiccup,
Welcome to our Best Buy forum community! We're glad you took the time to reach out to us for support.
Congratulations on your new HP Spectre x360 laptop! Getting a new laptop should be exciting, so it's disappointing to hear that it's been overshadowed with worry about how hot your laptop is running.
Here's a few things that can help with a laptop that runs on the hot side:
However, if that's not doing the trick, you can use the "Private Message" feature in my signature below to send over your full name, phone number, and email so we can look into a return or exchange as a possible option.

If the computer is still running hot, you may want to get it looked at by your local Geek Squad. You can set up a reservation here. We’ll take a look at it and see if it looks like an easy fix, or if we thing you should swap it out under our Return & Exchange Promise.
That return window should be 15 days from purchase, so you’ll want to make sure you get this done before then. Once we’re past that return period, we could still ship that computer out for repairs, but if it is truly defective we’d rather exchange it so you have a working product.

@nckhammond The model is 13-AP0023DX, and no the CPU never read 100%. I've exchanged the laptop and while it still gets borderline hot it does not match my previous and the fan noise is quieter.
@KyleR-BBY @Elle-BBY The team at 2865 Concord Rd, York, PA 17402 was very friendly and helpful in ensuring I left the store confident and comfortable with my decision. Thank you for the help, I appreciate it!

That's awesome news. I'm happy the folks in York were able to help you out. Newer laptop can run a little hotter than you may be used to on older once just because they are so much thinner. It sounds like your original was going a bit too far, however, so it sounds like swapping it out was the right move.
Please reach back out if we can help you out with anything else.
