I dropped off a laptop 7/21 was told 2 weeks for repairs. The last update was that it shipped 7/24 to the repair facility. No further updates the store said it should have been back or at least updated they said they would call me back and haven't. Geek squad support is a joke.

Your computer arrived along with hundreds of other units, once they reach yours and get it on the bench there will be updates. Brooks, Kentucky is the location massive Geek Squad repair facility and until it's processed there anyone you try to reach will have no additional information.
Not sure why you were quoted 2 weeks, that is the average turnaround time when things are 100% normal. Right now 1. We're in that window right before back to school where everyone brings in their broken or misbehaving machines creating a slowdown. It happens every year and 2. The pandemic really slows everything down. Parts are taking longer, each repair is taking longer due to mandatory disinfecting and cleaning of the machines and work spaces. Adding to that time is the sheer number of people working from home that are also sending broken or misbehaving computers in for repair.
While I'm sure it doesn't help that you were provided with an incorrect estimate I hope I've at least provided some insight as to what is going on.

It's understandable that you'd like to be without your computer for as short of an amount of time as possible. I'm sorry for any unexpected delays with your repair.
