Best Buy Repair Support

I brought my laptop in for a relatively simple repair, the hinge popped out. This would take any repair shop probably an hour to fix and two days at worst. But not best buy, no they have me bring it in so "geek squad" can look at it and send it away for repairs. Now instead of a two day fix, I have to wait THREE PLUS WEEKS for my laptop back, which is my only computer that I can complete work on. Geek Squad does nothing but say " yeah that's broken" and then ship it away. Did they ship it to a center near me? NO! They sent it 3 days away to Louisville Kentucky. Long story short I now have to wait three and a half weeks for a laptop repair that should take around an hour or two.

Thank you for the quick reply, even with the need to send it far away, I don't understand why it will take 3 plus weeks for a simple repair especially when I was told 2 weeks when I sent it in.

While we do out best to complete repairs as quickly as possible we are experiencing delays in receiving replacements parts from vendors and manufacturers. This can cause a longer than usual time frame in finishing a repair and sending a device back.

A hinge issue is generally not a simple repair. On modern laptops the hinge mount is often part of the case requiring a replacement of ether the lid or the upper or lower case. Those parts are taking forever to get.
