Wow... I don't even know where to begin! I bought my son a IBUYPower gaming computer in June 2018. A couple of months after he got it, we brought it to the Geek Squad due to the computer shutting down over and over again. Geek Squad said he was "overclocking" the computer. He told them he wasn't and they were insisting, saying it was the problem. We took it home, bought a new, better power supply and a new, better graphics card. The problem persisitet. We finally contacted Ibuypower and they told us it was the motherboard, but due to the fact we waited too long, they weren't able to help us. They also told us that it depends on the person working at Geek Squad for them to understand that the computer is normally the way we brought it to them and is NOT overclocked. So fast forward a few month and we got tired of it shutting down in the middle of playing Beat Saber, so we brought it back in. We told them what IBuyPower told us and also told them that we had put a new Power Supply and Graphics Card in. We also told them that the Hard drive was broken. They called us a couple of days later and told us it was ready to be picked up. When we picked it up, the guy came out and told us that the motherboard was bad. My response "So you put a new motherboard in?" He said "No, we just tested it".. I'm like "WHAT? We have warranty on that, why didn't you fix it? That's what we brought it here for!"... so he asked if we had Geek Squad Warranty.... DUHHHHNH! So they send it out. He asked for my son's new graphics card and power supply so they could put it in there when they got it back from shipping it out. 3 weeks later the computer is back at Best Buy. We pick it up and found out that they replaced the graphics card and the power supply (which if you remember right, we already replaced and told them that we did) ,but didn't fix the hard drive nor replaced the mother board. What in the world? My 13 year old son is more competent then these paid morons from the Geek Squad! Never again will I buy another computer from Best Buy. So we took the computer home... He's running it until it quits and then we will bring it back in. 3 times a lemon... they better give us a new computer. WOW! Worst experience of incompetence ever!!!

I'm sure your son was excited to receive this gaming computer, so I hate to hear about the series of events that occurred between you and Geek Squad regarding this device. I understand wanting to resolve this, and I wish our Geek Squad Agents would have addressed the motherboard issue right away.
I'm happy to provide any support you may need with this now. Are there any updates to this situation since you posted? Have you gone back to the store and talked to a Geek Squad Agent about the computer shutting off again?

I ended up conatcting the manager at our local BestBuy and they let us return the computer and gave us a gift card with the amount, and now we have a 4 week wait until my son gets his new computer. It all could have been solved the first time if a new motherboard would have been put in, we even offered to do it ourselfs if they were to have just given us the motherboard. Oh well, hopefully this one wont be a dud. Thank you for reaching out.
