GSP Replacement Question

I was recently approved for a replacement TV under GSP. When I called the number I was given by the service tech, I was told I could choose any TV up to $800, just call back with the SKU. The TV I'm leaning towards right now is $700, so I'm trying to figure out if I can apply the remaining $100 towards a new GSP/tax/etc.

Re: GSP Replacement Question

I believe you can actually. A forum moderator ought to give the official response shortly but I think that is something you're able to do.

Re: GSP Replacement Question

Hi aerogems,

Thanks for reaching out on the Best Buy forum with this great question! I’m glad to hear that you had a Geek Squad Protection Plan (GSP) since it sounds like you’ve had a bit of trouble with your TV lately.

I’m sorry to say that I can’t give a definitive answer to your question as it really depends on how the replacement is being processed. Processing can be different due to a lot of factors such as original purchase price, date of purchase, and so on. Using your forum registration information, I wasn’t able to find your account. I had hoped to review it for any additional details about your particular situation to see if I could find how the team you spoke to needed to process the replacement.

In the hopes of perhaps learning more about this, can you please send your full name, phone number, email address, and the last repair order number for your TV (as you said a service tech was the one who authorized replacement)? You should be able to send that by selecting the “private message” button in my signature below.

Thank you,
