I purchased on September 13, 2017 a 32" Insignia TV from the Best Buy in Watertown, NY. I am a Canadian citizen so when it came time for warranty I was assured if I purchased it could be transferred to Best Buy Canada, supposedly it was a matter of calling the Geek Squad to complete. This was not the case, I was informed that a USA warranty could not be transferred to Canada. I paid this money for a warranty that is not valid. Associates working for Best Buy should be knowledgable when informing customers.

Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. I know how frustrating it can be to be given incorrect information about the coverage a protection plan offers, and I apologize that the person you spoke with at the Watertown store didn’t give you the best information possible.
Regrettably, Geek Squad Protection plans cannot be transferred from Best Buy to Best Buy Canada, and the folks at the Watertown store should be aware of that. I’d like to follow up with them about your transaction in particular, if possible. I’d appreciate it if you could send me a private message, using the link in my signature below, containing the customer service PIN from the bottom of your receipt.
This isn’t to say that you are completely out of luck in regards to your plan, however. You can give us a call at 1-877-659-5068 or head on over to this web site to send us an email with any questions you may have about how the coverage of your plan may work in Canada. Be sure to include you plan number if you send the email in.
If that coverage doesn’t fit your needs please give us a call at 1-888-BESTBUY (1-888-237-8289) to discuss your options for canceling that plan and getting a refund on it.
