Dropped off my computer recently to have returned to factory settings and backed up, prior to dropping off I was working on my computer. When it was time to pickup the computer they told me motherboard was shot. How can this be, it had to be their error, excess heat, electrical shock or physical damage on their end. I know it’s six years old but it was in good shape and I have other computers older than this one. I have had other problems lately with Best Buy pertaining to their APPLIANCES. They were supposed to delivery me appliances on a certain day, they called me telling me washer and dryer would not be coming. I took off from work and lost wages. Second time no show, lost wages. Then appliances cane damage on third try, lost wages. Trying to get the damages fixed from Best Buy was a huge problem. Had to take off work again. Taking to their agents on the phone was absolutely horrible, they kept me on hold and would never return to the phone. Agents would tell different stories or lies. They compensated me $125.00 I lost wages over $2,500.00 because of Best Buy.

Re: Computer

Hello, Jake46,

Thank you for visiting our online community. This is a great place to come for support, so I’m glad you’ve reached out to share your experience. It sounds like you had made plans to have some basic work done on your computer, although I understand the Geek Squad determined there may have been some functionality concerns. I’m sure that was an unwelcomed surprise, especially considering you mentioned the unit seemed to have been working fine. While I understand your recent appliance experience did not mirror our expectations, that is not a trend we would want reoccurring.

I would suggest speaking with a Geek Squad Agent at your local store, with the request they take another look at your computer. This would require you to schedule an appointment. If you need further support, you’re invited to send a Private Message, so I can gather more information. To send a Private Message, simply select the darker blue icon, which is located across from my signature.

Please know, after tomorrow, I will be unavailable for the next five days. If you do not receive an immediate response, I’d be happy to continue working with you, when I return.

Best,

Re: Computer

I’ve tried to talk them about this situation but no resolve, with the computer motherboard being fried, all the wages lost due to appliance problems; I with my family members will no longer step foot into a Best Buy Store.

Thank you

Re: Computer

Hello again, Jake46.

While it sounds like you’ve already discussed this with the team at your local Best Buy store, I’d still be interested in formally documenting your feedback, as we are extremely interested in continuously improving our service. You’re welcomed to send a Private Message, so I can gather the necessary information. My normal schedule is Sunday through Thursday, just so you know when to expect a response.

Best,
