Broken humidifier and zero help

I have a Dyson Humidifier that broke after just a few uses. It’s out of the Best Buy return window so they tell me to call the manufacturer, but the manufacturer is telling me to call Best Buy. No one can help me and I’m sure it’s an easy fix but I can’t figure it out. Help!

Welcome to the Best Buy forum, though I wish we could have added you to our community under less frustrating conditions.  I’m so sorry your Dyson Humidifier is having problems! I was exactly where you are with a vacuum a few years back, and it is not a fun place to be!  


With Best Buy’s Return & Exchange Promise, we can generally accept returns for most products for only 15 Days.  When a customer is an Elite or an Elite Plus My Best Buy member, they do have an extended period of time to perform returns and exchanges for most items. Outside of that policy, we cannot guarantee any returns being accepted by your local stores.


Generally, when a customer purchases a Geek Squad Protection plan for their products we can be more helpful for any mechanical issues you have with the product past the 15 Day window.  It does not sound like you have a Geek Squad Protection plan, though.  In your case, your best option for service on the product, from trouble shooting to repairs, should be to contact the manufacturer.  Most appliances, including humidifiers, have at least 1 year under their manufacturer’s warranty, if not more. 


I wish I could tell you why they are sending you back to us in spite of your manufacturer’s warranty.  I would suggest contacting them again to try to get the answer to that question and the help that you deserve under their warranty. Dyson’s customer service phone number is 1-866-693-9766.

45 days for elite plus.
30 for elite.

Though there are some products, like cell phones, which have a limited return period for all customers, most items can be returned by Elite My Best Buy members for 30 days, while Elite Plus My Best Buy members have 45 days.
