The Geek Squad says "We fix it or replace it." Right there, it says they'll replace it. And yet, they are refusing to replace my camera. The camera was taken in to be repaired and we got an email that said it couldn't be repaired but it had been approved for a replacement. They're trying to give me a store credit for the amount we purchased it for. The problem is that it now costs a great deal more than when I purchased it on sale. Best Buy has the exact model camera that we purchased in their system but they won't swap it out and replace the camera. Instead they're so generously allowing us to spend another $100 to re-buy the same camera that they promised to replace when we purchased the protection plan. Not cool, best buy. I'm ready to cancel my best buy credit card and stop shopping there.

All I'm asking for is a replacement, not a store credit that won't give me a replacement. I'm not asking for an upgrade. I'm not asking for additional product. Just the same exact camera that they stil have in their system. Its just a swap. There's no reason not to provide that. They promised a replacement, I don't see why they won't provide it.

Thanks for joining us at the Best Buy Community forums. Having a camera stop working is always a pain, and our Geek Squad Protection Plans are designed to help you get back up and running as quickly as possible.
If that same exact camera is still available, we should be able to offer a replacement. If not, however, under the Terms & Conditions of the plan, the value of any swap out cannot exceed the original amount paid for the product.
If you could send me a private message through the link in my signature with your name, email address, phone number, and service order number, I’ll check it out and make sure everything is being processed correctly.
