Best Buy accepts laptop for repair, then installs faulty parts. This happened 4 times...

I have a MacBook Pro I purchased with a geek squad total protection plan. Since mid 2020, I’ve been having issues and took the laptop in for repairs.

When I got the laptop back, it’s top case was replaced but the “””new””” top case also had issues. Not a big deal, I’ll just send it back, right?

Well I have done this 4 times now. 4 times I take my laptop to the store for repairs, 4 times I get it back with a new set of issues. I’ve been trying to get Best Buy to honour their warranty and give me back a working laptop but that has proven impossible.

The people at my store say there’s nothing they could do and I have to call support. People at support say there’s nothing they can do and I have to go into the store.

This has been my experience with a $3000 laptop I bought with a $1500 warranty from Best Buy.

Welcome to our forums, and thank you for sharing your experience with us.  It can be frustrating enough to have an issue with your MacBook Pro, so to hear this frustration has only been compounded by the experience you’ve had with your local Geek Squad is especially disappointing to hear.

 

Using the information you’ve provided upon joining our Support Forums, it sounds like this MacBook Pro and Geek Squad plan (GSP) was purchased through Best Buy Canada.  Please know that these support forums are designed to assist our customers who have made purchases through Best Buy’s brick and mortar stores here in the U.S., or through BestBuy.com.  As such, we’ll be unable to review your MacBook Pro repair services further to provide you the assistance you’re looking for. 

 

With that said, if you’re still in need of assistance, I recommend continuing to work with the Geek Squad in your area, be it at your local store, or by contacting them directly at 1-800-GEEKSQUAD.  Alternatively, you may be able to explore other support options through Best Buy Canada’s support page on their site, which you’ll find here.

I have exhausted all the mentioned solutions, when I call that numbers , the only thing they do is set up a call back to the store that told me to call the number. Please help!!
