On March 29th of last year I purchased an open box asus laptop. When purchased I was told it carried the same warranty as a brand new laptop. Recently one of the fans started going bad, I called asus, they told me it was outside warranty because it was open box. I then went into a bestbuy and they told me they would service it because it was still within 1 year. Today I went into my local store to try to get the fan replaced, the rep told me they send it to a sevice center and they contact asus to get the parts, but since it's outside of manufactoror warranty it's going to cost me money. So did I just get lied to by bestbuy or did this guy have no clue what he was talking about? Not gonna lie every time I deal with bestbuy I am left with a bad experiance, not sure why I continue to shop there.
