Banzai Water Slide Defect

I recently purchased the following water slide from Best Buy:  When I opened the item, everything appeared to be in order.  After attempting to use it, there is a manufacturing defect at the ends of the slide.  Please see the following picture for an example of the defect:

As a result, the slide is inopperable.  I contacted Banzai regarding this, but they told me to go back to the store that I purchased the item at for a repair or return.  Due to the item being purchased in April, this item is outside of the return window now and I am trying to see what options there are available to me.  Please let me know.  Thank you.
