BEST BUY IS REFUSING TO RETURN A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT

I got my HP Pavilion desktop from the Best Buy in Victorville, California about a year or so back, and it began to have problems after the first month where the USB ports would stop working altogether! They worked just fine before they would become intermittent, then they would no longer work. By the time they had all stopped working and I couldn't plug in my mouse or keyboard, MAKING THE DESKTOP WORTHLESS, I took it into the store because I have insurance on it. They replaced the hard drive for no reason and the second I got it back THE PORTS STILL DID NOT WORK. So I took it back, and again they couldn't fix the problem! I took it back again and they replaced the motherboard, AND THE PORTS STOPPED WORKING AGAIN! Plus it began to randomly shut itself off! AND I UPDATED IT EVERY SINGLE TIME SO IT IS NOT BECAUSE IT WAS UNUPDATED, although they tried to pull that excuse and make it seem like MY fault. I took it in again for THE SAME PROBLEM, and they just replaced the motherboard again. I've taken it in FOUR TIMES ALREADY and they just called me to tell me flat out that they REFUSE TO JUNK IT. I AM NEVER SHOPPING AT BEST BUY AGAIN. I am BEYOND UPSET. If this issue isn't resolved in a way I find satisfactory I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this ATROCIOUS service!

Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. I’m sorry that you are having issues getting that computer repaired under your Geek Squad Protection Plan.

 

Based on your description, it does not sound like that computer would qualify for replacement under our No Lemon provision in the Terms & Conditions of the plan. Any repairs completed under the manufacturer’s warranty would not count towards that provision.
