"Notify me" When Products Are In Stock Online

i have an item in my wish list that is currently backordered 4 to 7 weeks.  it would be great to see a "notify me" when the item is in stock and ready for purchase, maybe even a notification sent your phone from the best buy application saying that, "this item is available for purchase!"

 

i don't know if anyone else has brought up this idea or not, but would be great to see this feature implemented on the website as well as on the smart phone application(s) across iPhone and Android.

 

hope other customers agree and make this happen! especially around the holiday season.

Seems like IFTT only works with Best Buy US.  Are there any plans to make it work with bestbuy.ca?

@smd9; IdeaX is in support of Best Buy U.S. only, and would not be able to address what Best Buy Canada provides its customers.

As you may know, with high demand and low supply, many items will be "sold out" leading to some customers going elsewhere in order to get the item that they wish to get. Adding a notification to people who "save for later" or another option, will allow customers to have the peace of mind that they will know when their item comes in. This may just save a few customers from leaving and going elsewhere for their purchase. It gets rid of the annoying task of checking very often to see if their item has come in. Please take this idea into consideration.

Add me to the "me too" list.  Many other merchants have this capability so Best Buy is certainly losing customers to them by not having it.  If I flag an item here, at Amazon, BuyDig, etc I'll buy it from the first one who has it available at the price I want.  Since those other sites will let me know when it's in stock I'll buy it from one of them and Best Buy loses out.  Considering how common a notify-me feature is (there are even third-party sites that do it, like camelcamelcamel.com and joinhoney.com), it can't be that hard especially for a large, technology-driven company like Best Buy and it will be beneficial for buyer and merchant.  Please consider adding it ASAP.

The 'notify me' feature is implemented and it sends email to notify the customers of item availability, and this feature is also made available for pre-order item notification. What features do you like to see added / enhanced? do add your comments and feedback.

It appears that the 'Notify me when item is in stock" idea has been implemented, which is great.

My question is ... how do I turn off the notifications? I was waiting on two items. Both came back in stock and I ordered one of the items. I no longer need notifications about the other item being in stock, but I get them almost daily, and can't find where to tell the program that I no longer need them.

@BipinMathew  If I recall correctly, here's how I saw the 'notify me' option: I had placed items in my cart and went to checkout. On that page it stated that an item was out of stock and the 'Notify me' button appeared next to the item.

Following up on my post from 11-02-2020, the notifications did stop without any action on my part. They must have the system set to notify the customer about three times and then the notifications stop.

How exactly do you add something to your cart when it's already sold out?

That's my biggest problem trying to get the notifications. I mean, the point is to tell me when it's in stock, not have to wait for it to be in stock to start seeing the notifications in the first place.
