New Idea

I know there are many other PS4 owners who would take advantage of this if it was offered.

Since The Last of Us and other PS exclusives were part of the similar $20 promotion last year it only makes sense for this title to be a part of this one.

Besides, if Xbox gamers can have Titanfall on this promotion, why can't Playstation gamers have Infamous?

Status: Acknowledged
The team that would be in charge of this has informed me that this is not a possibility with this title.

At the cost of annoying some, I'd like to see something implemented into the website where on certain items, say the SNES classic, you have to input a captcha code, or have a code sent to your phone to verify that it is indeed you who want to purchase it. That way you thwart automated bots and give those who really want the item a fair chance to do so.

Although I already have the SNES Classic, I am open to feedback about this from other fellow shoppers and Best Buy staff.

I love my gamers club unlocked account but I do not agree with the purchase limit of 3 copies of each title. I think that there should be a annual purchase limit of 3 per title per year and not not a permanent limit. Let's say you bought a multiplatform game such as Tomb Raider or Boarderlands. You may buy a copy for your xbox and ps3 then the inevitable Game of the year edition or &quot;definitive edition&quot; comes out for the next gen consoles or they release a handheld version of the game (Boardlands 2 is being released for the vita almost 2 years after it was released on the other systems. There are several more example Rayman Legends and Batman Arkham Origins are perfect examples. Batman still has a Wii U version that is supposed to be coming out but some people may have already played the game on three other systems so they won't get to enjoy the game on the wii u.<br>I am not saying that you are going to buy all these titles on day one but when the game goes on sale or a year or two down the road you pick it up during a Black Friday sale and then best buy closes your account? I think the limit should either be 3 per console per year (same as the video game trade in limit) or the limit should reset annually.

Thanks for all the input on this idea. We have made the following changes to our Gamers Club Unlocked Memberships.

The limits for using your Unlocked membership will be three copies of a New (i.e. not pre owned) gaming software title per platform, per year. Collector’s and Limited Editions count toward that title limit. Game of the Year editions, usually released much later including additional content do not count toward that limit but would essentially start as a separate game and limit.

i have an item in my wish list that is currently backordered 4 to 7 weeks.  it would be great to see a "notify me" when the item is in stock and ready for purchase, maybe even a notification sent your phone from the best buy application saying that, "this item is available for purchase!"

i don't know if anyone else has brought up this idea or not, but would be great to see this feature implemented on the website as well as on the smart phone application(s) across iPhone and Android.

hope other customers agree and make this happen! especially around the holiday season.

This idea has been brought up in the past, but there wasn't enough interest for it to be moved forward. I personally really like the idea, and would love to hear from others on this. Make sure to vote for an idea if you like it.

With Best Buy being a Electronics/Technology/Media Store, a Customer Service Department dedicated specifically for gaming needs through it Toll-Free Phone Customer Service that deals in only Gaming should be created and established. Since Video Games are always a high selling products and with Best Buy having the Gamers Club Unlocked Program, it would be a way to push it more. This Department could help Best Buy Customers in many ways and help fix problems such as:

  • Any problems with Pre-Order bonus's or other digital orders/items (EX: Codes not received)

  • Price Adjustments of video games when best buy lower the price, especially with keeping GCU Discounts in mind on top of the adjustments.

  • Problems with GCU Activating correctly at purchase or not applying to games correctly

  • Problems with Pre-Order $10 Certificates not showing up on accounts when they should

  • Any potential Trade-In Problems

  • Not receiving Welcome coupons from GCU when signing up

  • Any Gaming Promos not applying correctly to a order

  • A big one is also the hassle of dealing with a majority of both phone reps and in store reps who after a year still does not know the in and out of the GCU Program

  • It will help keep the work off of the Forum mods since a majority of the problems on here are for adjustments problems and also GCU not apply discount right and the normal everyday phone reps and in store reps are giving false or informed information since it not there specific department.

  • and many many more reasons

Others customers probably can also input very good reason to make this happen. Especially since due to the normal everyday employees who have not much knowledge of many of best buy special programs especially GCU there is more frustration and problems that the customers must burden with constantly having to keep trying over and over until they get that single employee who is informed.

We will not be moving forward on this idea.

Here`s the 2014 videogame release calendar & the current list of eligble $10 pre-order/purchase titles. http://www.cinemablend.com/m/games/2014-Video-Game-Release-Date-Calendar-61787.html

http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/My-Best-Buy-Gamers-Club/My-Best-Buy-quot-Get-10-quot-Gaming-Pre-Order-O...

I`d love to see many more titles added to the current list like Dragon Age, Halo Master Chief & The Last of Us PS4 I`m sure I`m not alone. We`ll keep posting the titles slated for 2014 release that we`re heavily interested in purchasing giving you the chance to gauge interest/feedback level. Hopefully, this will result in a major increase of new titles being added. Several of the existing titles slated for 2014 release have been pushed back into 2015 so these newer add ons will help fill in the gaps.

I guess I spoke too soon. After hearing back that we wouldn't be adding new titles to this promotion they must have come back to this and decided we could add some new titles. It looks like we have now added Halo: The Master Chief Collection to this promotion.

Stop putting stickers on online orders

Status: Tell Us More

Multiple times now, I have purchased an item online, both for shipping and for in-store pickup. Every time, a large sticker is placed on the box. They are not easily removable and cannot be removed cleanly. On multiple occasions, these were gifts that had to be given with a big ugly sticker on it, or with the paper/adhesive left behind from trying to remove the big ugly sticker.

I’d this sticker is necessary, I’d like to suggest that your warehouses and stores be required to use removable adhesive. Thanks!
Status: Tell Us More

I'm pretty sure this has been suggested in the past. We are most likely not going to stop putting stickers on items we sell, but I guess it would be possible we could use removable adhesive. Would anyone else have any thoughts on this? Make sure to vote for an idea if you like it.

To my knowledge BestBuy is the only seller of these "universal" iPhones that should work on any carrier, but then lock themselves to that carrier upon first activation. These phones are misunderstood by most people to be unlocked phones, but they are not truly unlocked. They are sold at the same price that Apple sells truly unlocked devices. I am an owner of such a phone that is now effectively a brick beause TMobile says they can't unlock it, but no other SIM will work in it and I have no coverage from TMO where I now live. Sales Associates should know this, but obviously some of them don't, or don't bother to relay this information to customers.  Due to their high cost, iPhone are not stored on open shelves but are taken to the register when requested by a buyer.  The first time you touch the device is after you've bought it, so even if its packaging stated these limitations it wouldn't matter.

I propose that BB implement a fact sheet stating the details of these phones and requiring a consumer to sign it prior to actually buying the phone.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Really taken back I was a paid member since day 1, year 1 but when I went to renew in Fall 2013, was in the "limbo" period.

Given a courtesy Feb extention but would rather have paid my $15 to have the magazine coupons until at least May.

Courtesy extention = $5.

One coupon is at least $10 and I missed out on Jan - May (5 sets of coupons...on average I would use 2 each month).

I was in the hardcopy format but was not even able to switch to digital....

Bring back the coupons!

Adding a "Silver" tier to the Gamers Club

Status: Acknowledged
by on ‎03-28-2012 02:52 PM

Although I like the new gamers club unlocked program there were several perks sacrificed that used to make me get games day 1. I was able to become RZ silver based on mainly gaming deals but with the loss of the consistant $10(500 RZ points) pre-order bonuses & $10 RZ for every $150 spent on gaming I've done less & less of purchasing day 1. I know in order for these deals to continue there has to be a better give & take for BB to remain profittable so my suggestion is to offer a 3rd gamers club option that can be achieved/earned in more than 1 way.

If you were to buy 1 $60 release week game per month you'd spend $720 per year which is a large chunk of money to invest in games.

A-So say if you spend $1000 on games/accessories in 1 yr you would become GCU silver & a new set of benefits would be available.

B-Another way to become GCU silver would be participate in 12 pre-determined GCU/GCU Silver deals in 1 yr that would also warrant an upgrade since you would be supporting the program throughout the year.

C-The final way to earn GCU silver status would be to participate in 2 five for $100 deals in 1 yr with 1 major adjustment. We should be able to select the 10 games thoughout the year instead of just a list of 15. Several top notch titles would be excluded based on suits instead of customer demand which happens quite often(remember Batman Arkham Asylum was an underdog smash hit that lead to AC being blockbuster). The 5 for $100 was very very sound but the process(pre-order, issuing of $100) needed upgrades.

EditSmiley Frustratedince the current GCU can be purchased then GCU Silver status should also be allowed but since the benefits are very generous the GCU Silver should be $30 per yr if not earned through the means above. Offer both GCU & GCU Silver for $40 so more people would do this vs paying $15 for GCU & another $30 for GCU SIlver.

Some perks I would like to see would include

1-A coupon book for GCU silver members

2-Special "sponsored" editions of the @gamer mag with coupons that would be directly tied to specific AAA titles.

3-Emailed deals just for CU silver members

4-An additional 10% off ALL gaming products & the ones that can be discounted should net either an instant BB giftcard or RZ points equal to the 10%. This 10% should stack with the current GCU 10% as you would've paid $15 for the 1st & earned the Silver status through above measures.

I know there's more perks that I missing hopefully other gamers can contribute.

Status: Acknowledged

We won't be adding tiers to the Gamers Club Unlocked membership at this time.

@Gamer is a great magazine with great coupons & it's come along way from where it started but there's no reason to get stale/complacent.

Because of the limited # of coupons(8) whole systems get completely ignored & others are severly limited but BB sells all the systems so it makes no sense not to promote them all. My solution is simple

1-Increase the total # of coupons to 18-20.

2-Make sure there's a coupon that can attract any gaming customer so they feel there's value ever month even when there's a month that they're not interested in anything.

3-Expand the coupons to deals for systems(Hardware) to help spur more GCU memberships.

Here's an sample monthly breakdown

3-4 Coupons dedicated to present gen HD systems(PS3/X360/Wii)

3-4 Coupons dedicated to new gen systems (WiiU/PS4/X720)

3-4 Coupons dedicated to PS Vita handheld(this will help increase sales of the vita & software)

3-4 Coupons dedicated to 3DS handheld

3-4 Coupons dedicated to PC games(severly overlooked segment in GC/GCU)

3-4 Coupons dedicated towards used games, accessories, "other" gaming related items & consoles.

You also might wanna consider added a "special" coupon that can be used universally w/an  extended valid period or doesn't expire at all. This will give value to previous outdated mags full of expired coupons which will just get recycled. Just make sure the coupon has deals that are not offset by the $5-$10 mag price.

As an electronic retailer, selling cutting edge tech, one would expect the Best Buy Credit card is supported by Samsung pay... especially where they sell phones equipped with the service.  But that is not the case.

I've contacted Citi bank, and they say its upto Best Buy to work with samsung pay to get it supported.  Can this happen please?  Ive been waiting almost 4 years now with a compatible phone, checking every few months to see if its supported.

Status: Acknowledged

I can assure you that what cards work or don't work on Samsung Pay is exclusively up to Samsung. We would not be able to help with this.

I know I would like to see this for sure, whether it gets added to the "Preorder and Get $10 in Reward Certificates" promotion, or gets a free $10 gc launch week, etc.

Other games that have been relased multiple times on various platforms (GTA V, Halo) are getting the $10 Reward Certificate treatment once again, so why not for the Ultimate Evil edition, which is coming to some platforms (PS4, Xbox One) for the very first time?

Status: Acknowledged
I did hear back on this and was informed at this time we would not be moving forward on this idea.

I fully understand why it WAS necessary to have to wait 30 days for RZ points to post but there's a simple way for this to be resolved without putting BB at risk for fraud/exploitation.

Add an option to the MYRZ.com site that would allow a customer to forfeit the ability to return it completely in return for the RZ points posting immediately. Also, there should be a way to complete this in-store as well. Exchanges however should be allowed but only for the SAME PRODUCT & it would have to be DEFECTIVE. In cases where the defective item is no longer in-stock it would still require a managers override anyways so they would need to use good judgment in both protecting BB & providing good fair customer service. Store credit towards for an equivalent product for an even exchange or towards an upgraded product in which the customer would be responsible for covering the additional remaining balance would suffice. But since the managers SHOULD have been trained correctly in the matters of customer service this really shouldn't be an issue should it?

The system should require NO LESS THAN 4 CONFIRMATIONS(2 to begin the forfeit process & 2 more to accept the RZ points). This way there's ZERO EXCUSE that can be made of a person accidentally completing the forfeit process & not being aware of what they were doing.

I think this fairly protects BB's interest along with offering another reason to shop @ BB for convenience, customer service & overall value..

Currently when you go into Best Buy and you're shopping the printer aisle, the tags focus strictly on the printer and the features.  I feel like Best Buy should make all printers go to the longer fact tags with the options and in the options area put the compatible standard capacity and/or high capacity ink/toner (if space allows) catridges that are carried in-store that are compatible with the diplayed printer.

Here's where this is super helpful.  When customers compare printers, one of the things customers care about most is ink cost.  Currently, you have to pull each of the boxes to get the cartridge numbers and run over to the next aisle and get the prices.  It would be so much easier to have the prices listed right there next to the printer price on the side.  This would also be more efficient than trying to scan the QR code and pulling it up thru the BBY.com app.

Would anyone else like to see this as a reality? Make sure to vote for an idea if you like it.

Since the 20% GCU discount on new games does not apply to digital purchases, how about giving GCU members 20% back in reward points for digital purchases?  It keeps people buying games (or other merchandise) from Best Buy and doesn't leave them out of the rewards system for being a GCU member.  In a way, it kind of reminds me of the Shop Your Way rewards system they have at Sears/K-Mart, which is very popular amongst gamers, only it allows people to purchase their games the way they want.

Status: Acknowledged

Thanks for the insights on this one.

The 24/7 Elite customer service line is not helping anyone and only frustrating customers  The line is limited to My Best Buy program questions only, which include the following as stated;

*  Points Balance

*  Reward History (Last 5+ transactions)

*  Certificate Status

*  Attach Missing Points

*  Points needed to next certificate

*  Spend needed to reach next tier level

Who has urgent questions about points balances, certificate status or spending amounts at 3:00am in the morning?  All of these issues can be resolved during the day.  The forums and moderators are already an excellent option to resolve anything related to these issues.

If keeping the 24/7 hotline and spending resources to maintain it then make it worthwhile so customers really appreciate it.   Time sensitive items such as; Price Matching (we do shop at 3am in the morning!), questions on products or shipping/order status inquiries should be accessible.

If not able to provide help for these issues then get rid of the whole thing and replace it with a new perk that is actually usable to customers.

I'm not sure maybe I'm wrong.  I would like to see if there are any figures showing how many customers have been helped by the 24/7 hotline.  I'm assuming it is very costly to keep up such a service.  I would hate hotline reps losing their position but move them to something else or give them access to resolve issues that really matter and/or are time sensitive.

Rewards Points - Apple Products

Status: Acknowledged
by on ‎01-01-2020 10:11 PM

Imagine my dismay when $2,499 in Apple purchases last month showed 0 (zero) rewards points in my account. A little quick digging revealed that Apple Products are no longer eligible. Comparable pricing and shipping are available from your competition. Congratulations on alienating a significant portion of your customer base. As an Elite Plus rewards member, I am no longer incentivized to purchase from you. I'm the only person with my name in your system; feel free to look me up.

My suggestion, reverse your decision and resume awarding rewards points for Apple products.

The overwhelming general concensus is that Gamer`s Club Unlocked(GCU) is a great program(arguably the best one out) but at $120 upfront for 2 years a little overpriced. And with benefits/perks of the previous program being reduced or completely eliminated while the upfront cost has increased 4x per year it`s a little underwhelming honestly. Most consumers would accept a price increase even to $120 IF the benefits warranted the increased cost.

Offering $15 credit(750 MyBB points) for every $150 spent on gaming related items would immediately provide tremendous value to GCU along with further encouraging customers to make all of there gaming purchases at BB. This benefit would be a big perk to tip the scale in BB`s favor whenever all thing s are even retailer to retailer. And customers who are aware their $5-$15 away from another $15 and/or about to make purchase that will net another $15 credit would certainly pick up an extra item or two to get the added credit. Plus knowing there`s a 15 day wait for the points to post we`d wanna get the clock started that way when a deal pops up the credit already available.

Another way to put this in place and strengthen GCU could be to allow the pc to auto-generate a $15 BB giftcard when $150 pre-tax is reach in-store/online. If you`re going to allow free Gamer`s club to recieve a simliar benefit it should be less than $15 per $150 & the instant GC option should NOT be available to them. That way you`re rewarding paying members & enticing free members to upgrade to GCU.

I did hear back on this and was informed at this time we would not be moving forward on this idea.
In all honesty the videogame trade in process is a mess time wise & structure wise, most trading regulars could complete a trade better & correctly than the reps at CS. And since we`re still waiting to see if BB will rethink the decision to backtrack on removing the gaming counters with dedicated game reps(horrible decision already has an existing ideax thread) here`s an alternative. http://www.forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Best-Buy-IdeaX/Please-bring-back-the-video-game-trade-in-counters/i...

If we could just go onto BB.com, select the games we wanna trade in & get a full print out to bring to CS that would save ALOT of time. All the rep would need to do is scan the barcode which would already have the amounts INCLUDING the 10%(which has been a MAJOR issue just search the forums). If there`s 10 games all they have to do is confirm the games in the cases are the same & get the ID. If one or more of the titles are not correct they can simply scan the barcode next to whatever title(s) are incorrect to remove them from the trade.

Even better existing traders would have the option to "load" their ID info right on the page too which would be barcoded for safety. That way a CS would only need to verify each game(s) & then scan the complete trade barcode and/or the 10% GCU bonus barcode & customer ID info barcode. By reducing what the rep.needs to do there`s less chance of error or employee giving bad info which can only speed up the process by "dummy proofing" it & allow the pc to do all the work. Alot of companies try to remove the "human element" for some of the same reasons not to mention cost cutting, but once this would go into place it would greatly reduce the # of customer complaints on the forums boards from customers who clearly know what/how to do to complete a trade.

Offer an additional $1 per trade for doing the online pre-trade since it ensures a trip in-store which can lead to a instant in-store sale. If you had the gaming counters you`d be able to coach up the staff on how to upsell to customers recieving giftcards which will pay for itself very quickly if done correctly.

Speed up, dummy proof & profitize the entire videogame process in 1 move which will strengthen Gamers Club Unlocked(GCU) all in one motion.
