I have no faith in OnTrac, and I absolutely wouldn't have purchased through Best Buy if I had known a no-name delivery service with countless complaints from customers would be used. It's super barebones and gives next to no information. I do not trust this service with a $750 purchase. There are so many posts on the Best Buy forums about how everyone hates OnTrac. There seems to no progress in helping the issue at all. I will now consider Best Buy as my last option to buy things from because of this.
I understand supply constraints, but it seems like if you're trying to promote the value in a TotalTech membership, a lot of that rides on the addition of protection at no additonal cost; However, that relies on you having the item(s) in stock and there's been plenty of instances recently that you are out of stock on items that are readily available elsewhere. More recently, the Dyson AirWrap (I won't list all the places with in-stocks but there's quite a few) and the Series 9 Pro Electric Shaver with PowerCase, 9477cc is not even listed on the website at all, but another big box retailer carriers this version, it's in-stock nearby and available directly thru Braun. Maybe the ask here is that you prioritize TotalTech members on the in-stock notifications to give them first grabs and this could easily be pitched as a membership incentive, the same way Apple does with AppleCare and priority access to support if you have AppleCare - just as an example.
Now that iPods have been discontinued and Best Buy no longer sells unlocked iPhones (outside of pre-owned) it seems like the market for unlocked/pre-owned iPhones is a booming one. One of the bigger issues is that there's currently not a way to experience these models and what they look/feel like. I get that if you're Apple you want to showcase the latest and greatest and promote customers going into these but considering how many different pre-owned iPhone models Best Buy sells now, I feel like this is also a size-able, addressable market as well. That being said, it would be nice to have something in stores where customers can put their hands on what they're spending at least $200 on. It appears that most stores only carry a handful of the same models so it wouldn't take up a considerable amount of space either. It could easily be an end section or something.
I know this is already out on this board a number of times. My hope is one more comment might make someone at corporate realize you are losing business because of this. If I cannot call a local store and talk with someone that knows what is going on at that location then I might as well be shopping with Amazon where thier support people can actually solve a problem.
This no calls to a local store has been in place for awhile now and I have to say the level of frustration it creates has caused me to not shop there. My time is worth more to me. If I have to spend time and money driving to a store to find out something I could have just called for then I'm not going to buy from you.
Bottom line your national call centers that are located who knows where suck.
I went on the trade-in site and none of the latest Apple Watches (SE, Series 8 or Ultra) are even on there.
This could represent a huge opportunity for Best Buy as someone may have initially purchased an Apple Watch SE or Series 8 and say, want to ugprade to an Ultra, and right now - it doesn't look like Best Buy wants these.
The same can be said about the latest iPhones. If someone purchased a Pro and wanted to go to a Pro Max (or vice versa) and you're outside the return policy (which is only 14 days) - huge missed opportunity.
This kind of missed the mark on timing, but maybe this is still a good opportunity to get the wheels turning for next year (or next semester, beginning in January):
Best Buy should add a student deal for TotalTech Membership -- akin to how a certain arched-A competitor has a membership, exclusively for students. Maybe you partner with ID.me or SheerID for verfication but I do think this is an area of opportuntiy. When you're going off to college, you run into a lot of expenses and I feel like there's a lot of great benefits to TotalTech that could directly benefit students - from member pricing to coverage on all the devices one may be buying for their dorm or apartment; However, $199 may be a little steep for many college students who are incurring a lot of expenses to begin or continue their education journey.
I have been waiting for Best Buy to carry this product. There are a number of vendors selling it already and have been for the past few months. I would prefer to purchase it from Best Buy. One reason is to benefit from the reward points I gain from the purchase and second, I can obtain the warranty from Best Buy as part of my Total Tech Membership. Any idea when or if this will occur?
add a feature so that you can make a purchace of appliance online and set up a delivery and haul away. This will help during holiday times and if people are wanting to buy an appliance for someone far away. Along with that people that do work nights and can't make it to the store during the day will have access. Right now you have it that you can buy online but you just ship it to them or they can pick up at store. both options leave the old unit for the costomer to dispose of. This is inconvient for the costomers. even if there is an extra charge i believe people would be willing to pay for such convience.
I did not receive my package today. The delivery guy placed my printer outside the apartment but not in the mailroom. Outside the door, it says that it is only for food delivery but not the package. It is really easy to steal things out there since it is not even in the apartment. I am so angry about that. I really need that item, but now neither refund nor redeliver applies to me. Nobody answers my call and I need to even wait 40 minutes to have a live chat.
With social media and video becoming a very large market. Sad thing is Best Buy has failed to sell "real" products for these things. Best Buy does sell elgato lights but there are so many more on the market that are of higher price but higher quality and more sought after..Multiple Markets we have failed in:
Blackmagice ATEM Switchers
Tilta Ring and its associated products.
ninja V and other Video Monitors Quality Video Monitors
The list of higher sought after products can be found on Amazon and B&H Photo: Sad that if I want to get quality Youtube studio equipment I can not buy it from Best Buy. Our lack of product selection only hurts us.
Apature Professional Lighting: they have a more consurmer friendly brand also
Best Buy is completly missing the mark... Buy all that I can from Best Buy... they are usually down the road...
Now we don't have to take this step and continue to offer fewer of Social Media Studio Equipment. Believe Best Buy seems to be missing an Opportunity. B&H Photo, Sweetwater, and Amazon corner these markets. There are many products Best Buy could sell on line and make great profit.
It would bring down the cost of televisions and licensing fees and allows customers a choice to choose what platform and device they want to use for streaming video content online.
I'm just old fashioned in that sense and prefer certain platforms to stream video. Of course I understand too that its one more device to control. But I'd like choice over the TV I'd buy.
The language type for laptops are typically US style or Bililingual. These defer in the laptop key sizes, position, and short cuts to access special characters. This can be very fustestering for users that are not used to different type of keyboard than the US ones. Unforuntately, there does not seem to be any way to filter those results but rather having to click on each laptop and check the keyboard language requirements manually.
Of all the years I've been on the forums I've seen all the cool innovations that Best Buy have sold under their Insignia and Dynex brands. Especially with tablets, foldable laptops and other cool electronics. As I look at other retailers today they have their own brand name of budget electronics which are high quality, the same as Best Buy did a long time ago. I think this would give consumers a larger buying power to choose Best Buy brands over the leading brand names and it would mean only good things for them.
With our wallets growing ever thicker, it would be phenomenal to add my Best Buy Credit Card to Apple Pay! One less card to carry around and always on me.
It's nice to be able to look up the card at Best Buy, but what if I want to use it outside of Best Buy? Apple Pay to the rescue!

I have read about TotalTech for the $199 per year price tag and it has some pretty strong points on what it offers. However that price point is really steep and unless you purchase a LOT of stuff from Best Buy, it can seem expensive.
Competitors such as Walmart and Amazon have monthly subscriptions that get you free 2 day shipping on everyday items. I do shop at Best Buy from time to time but unless you have a certain amount for qualifying items, buying a small item with the shipping fee can add up.
I would gladly pay $14.99 per month for a modified version of Total Tech.
Instead of yearly subscribers that get 60 days, monthly subscribers would get 30 days to return a product. Also some features of the membership would be reduced from what yearly subscribers get. And monthly subscribers would get free standard shipping on all items on Best Buy.
The free shipping would tempt me to shop much more at Best Buy for the everyday small computer items I need from time to time. And I would not have to worry about a dollar figure minimum to qualify for free shipping.
