I like what you did here on the Black Friday in July sale promo on the main page. Any chance extending this color design to the whole site? Sometimes I like to look at Best Buy late at night just to see the latest deals and don't neccesarily like bright colors late in the night. Youtube respects the color scheme on my PC (Dark) and Facebook has a dark mode as well.
Here is a scary scam I was almost a victim of:
A guy with an Indian accent purporting to be from Geek Squad phoned me 3 hours after I had a sucessful computer update through the real Geek Squad initiated through 1-800-433-5778 and www.best.buy.com. He said after my update geek squad was detecting unusual activity on my computer and they needed to give me access to my computer again to investigate. He gave me a strange web address to type in. I said I would only give him access through www.best.buy.com. He argued that he must be from Geek squad as he knew I had been serviced earlier in the day. However, he could not give the the code to start a session on www.bestbuy.com and then he said he had already found a way into my computer and would call me back in 15 minutes. He did not. I was extremely lucky I did not type in his address.
I suggest Geek squad reference customers to a Scam information page
On of the more frequent issues that seem to pop up in the Gamer Forum is digital download codes not being received in timely manner.
My suggestion is Best Buy upgrade their process for supplying digital codes.
Granted, some of the issues are going to be people who have overactive spam filters that may intercept the email
Or they happen to use an email address that is wrong or different than the one they check.
Perhaps change it so someone can only purchase digital content if they are using a confirmed My Best Buy account.
Then have it set up so that ALL digital codes not only get emailed, but they go direct to the Digital Library associated wiht the account.
Digital Download codes should be almost instantaneous, just as they are with many other retailers.
Something needs to be done. Whether it is education and or process improvement.
This sounds simple and you may have done it already but i did not see it. Can you make an exclusive PS5 buying option for BB Credit Card holders? With the madness of getting these it would combat the bots and get you more card holders. Other companies have done similar things. I.E. Gamefly, PS Direct, Costco, Sams, etc. I myself would use mine. Have been a card holder for 10yrs. Thanks.
This idea is to be able to sub search from a set of results.
Often I find there is not filter for a specification I am looking for.
So when you have used the various methods to locate selection of items and it is narrowed down to say 127 item, you can now do a query to find matches from that selection.
Example. Say I am looking for Mac Book Pro's with 16 GB of memory. I can filter down to that. But there are still 86 items.
However, I only want to see latest model. So I can now do a sub search for Latest Model.
Then another sub search to show only Space Gray
Essentially this would allow for the manual filtering of features that are not set up with filters.
I purchased a Panasonic microwave online and it was delivered a little over a year ago. I gave it a 5-stars
rating but would like to change it because it has a major fault error. I paid more for it but paying for repairs will be costly. I am not happy!
Is there a way that Elite and Elite Plus could have a "product notification" option? So far, being Elite or Elite Plus hasn't really had much benefit.
Of course I'm talking about popular and (usually) "out of stock" items (current hot PS5, XBX, RTX 30xx).
It just seems to be a pretty basic option that all customers should enjoy, Elite or not. BB can certainly "Beta" test on Elite customers, I'm OK with that. XD
I bought a gaming computer this past summer. In a few months it stopped working properly and the Geek Squad sent it in to get fixed. They didn't fix it or return it, and I received an email telling me I was to get an exchange. Instead of exchanging it for the computer I wanted (the same kind I had sent in, but probably because it was of out-of-stock), I was told I had to accept a gift card. I was not offered a refund for a computer with a bad GPU that lasted about 6 months. The gift card does not resolve the problem, since the item is out-of-stock and I can't compete with the bots and scalpers that sell out the item before I even get a notification. I have a suggestion to make the process more customer friendly.
Instead of the "Best Buy App", which places the onus on the customer to find the product, why can't Best Buy simply move customers (especially those who have already made a purchase and have accounts for the Geek Squad program) to the front of the line? When an item comes in stock, instead of making the aggrieved customer try to fight against bots and scalpers for the exchange they are entitled to, why not reserve the intial new-stocks for customers who have already turned in the product and deserve their replacement? I have read several articles online, and it looks like regular people like me who can't use bots are not getting the computers they are trying to get and this is expected to last until at least the fourth quarter of 2021. I just want the computer I paid for, or at least the ability to purchase it from another business. Now I'm stuck with a gift card that can't replace my item, and I am stuck being offered items that aren't even gaming computers because Best Buy is unable to offer me anything close to the rig I purchased with my hard earned money. I would feel much better if Best Buy was the entity trying to resolve the problem instead of putting it back on me. A company like Best Buy should be able to put a hold on any comparable computer delivered to a store that can transfer it to me.
I like a good bargain and I don't mind open box, but the way the Best Buy website is setup is really cumbersome to find these. Ideally, there should be a way to go by a brand page - let's say Apple, and then have an all products link -- instead, you have to go by product category and then sub-category and some of these get really messy like if you want to check for accessories, you have to go by product and sub-category first. It just seems more complicated than it really needs to be. Another example is if you want to look at Apple computers, but you want to see laptops AND desktops. Because you're required to go category > subcategory this isn't possible - whereas if you had a view all option for say Macs in general, you could see everything all at once. Just a suggestion to make navigation less cumbersome.
Whenver I try and order several items at a time, I get errors on the website. After I go to the cart, I select the shipping preference, then click on Continue to Payment Information, and the spinner seems to pop up for each item, eventually erring out. I get an error like, "A problem occurred, please try again". I have tried clearing cookies, etc. with no change. This is the same issue I have with trying to view order history - when scrolling down the order history page, a new spinner appears at the bottom, but the spinners stop appearing after a while, and there is no way to see all of my order history (hence the request in a different Idea to add more filtering (such as date range) to order history.
The combination of product shortages and scalping has made it nearly impossible for the average customer to purchase Graphics Cards and Next Gen Consoles from BestBuy. These items come in stock every so often but seem to be sold out within minutes (if not seconds). I have a few ideas that I believe can help reduce frustration for your customers and prevent scalpers from buying up all of the product that drops.
1. Pre-order options:
This would reduce customer frustration as they won't have to constantly monitor the product only do be disappointed when they aren't quick enough to snag their desired GPU/Console.
2. Link GPU/Console purchases to some form of photo ID (driver’s license):
This would more effectively allow BestBuy to limit the number of these high demand products that a person can purchase in a certain time frame. It prevents people from using multiple accounts and names to make these purchases. It would also make it much harder for bots to buy the stock within seconds.
3. Make high demand items like these only available for purchase/preorder in store or on the phone:
As stores are now open for in person purchases, this would make it impossible for bots to buy all the stock. It would still provide people who cannot come into the store a way to purchase.
These are my suggestions, hope it can help.
*I am an employee. I know that BestBuy wants to be "customer obsessed" and help their customers in every way possible. I feel like these ideas can help BestBuy to assist our customers who are trying to obtain these hard-to-find items.
The purchase history on Best Buy's website is lacking in comparision with other websites. Is there a way that paging, filtering by date range, or downloading of purchase history could be made available? These are available on most websites these days. Thanks.
Best Buy Leadership,
I would like to request that Best Buy implement a thorough review on their customer identification program. Customers should not have to call customer service to have rewards investigated due to the lack of limited process identification controls. I recommend that Best Buy come up with a process to validate the identity of a customer. Specifically, something Best Buy would only know and the customer. I ask how much fraud is being committed by allowing people to provide someone's else’s email address or phone number to cash out on their rewards?
This seems rather trivial, but it's a very big concern amongst customers. Why give incentives if they are fraudulently being stolen with limited information? Seems like a great "New Idea" for 2021.
Hello. I'm in the market for a NAS and noticed how poor Best Buy's selection in this area is. Currently, most of the selection is from Western Digital and top NAS vendors such as Synology, Asustor, and QNAP are missing. I am in particular looking for an Asustor Lockerstor 2 AS6602T. Other users may have had this experience with other products. My recommendation is to have a page where buyers can recommend products for Best Buy to carry in their inventory. This will help both the customer in getting their product from a preferred store and it will help Best Buy consider products that sell well and begin to sell it themselves. For now, I'm going to have to buy my NAS from somewhere else.
Would you please consider allowing Elite Plus members exclusive access to the purchase of the PS5?
Either hold an event that allows confirmed Elite Plus members only to make their purchase or allow Elite Plus Members to pre-order, while you vet that we are not bots, you can release the units in order that they were placed.
I don't have time to monitor twitter for drop notifications and then come to the BB site and fight with bots, I'd simply like to have a personal link for me as a confirmed Elite Plus member that I can use to place my order.
Please consider this to calm some of the madness for your most loyal customers.
