The in-store case selection for iPads is a dark sea of black, bland cases.  Let's be honest, Best Buy probably has all sort of analytics on rewards members (age, sex, geography, average purchase price per transaction, etc.).  This is useful data that can be used to create a diverse panel of voices to help give you direction on what your customers want. When you shop the case selection at Best Buy you can't help but feel like Best Buy is clearly out of touch. The panel could be given reward points for participating and it could be something simple like a small gallery of photos showing different angles, etc. (like what would appear on BestBuy.com with a small description) and panel members could use the popular swiping method of choosing (swipe left for pass, swipe right for yass haha). Points could be rewarded on a per swipe basis (i.e. every swipe is a point).

Bilingual website

I noticed the website could use a bilingual appearance.  It appears only the Community's page is offerend in Spanish.  This could lead to more revenue if you're able to pan to a greater audience.  If there is in fact a Spanish-language website, can someone link me?

You should have a van and driver ready at all times to take a TV to a customers house for drop off only with in 10 miles of the store . That way people can have and setup thier tv the same day without the nightmare. You lost my sale because of NOT being able to provide this service . I was even willing to pay $25 dollars to do it and I only live .5 miles from Best Buy. Buying a big tv is an emotional experience that people want to enjoy that day. Not wait a week for a delivery .

I've purchased several Apple devices from Best Buy and I noticed a lot of stores write all over the boxes (as shown below).  There should be some sort of company-wide initiative to stop this, because, especially around gifting times, it's an eye sore and to be honest on a premium product it just makes it look cheap (not to mention everyones handwriting styles vary and that one is clearly terrible). There's probably a cleaner, more presentable way to do it, in the form of some sticker that's easily removed (like address labels, not like those yellows ones that they put on CDs that tear into micropieces and leave behind residue).

Review Nickname Solutions

by only1DarkKnight on ‎02-01-2017 11:36 AM

When writing your first review, the Nickname field doesn't give any indication that it is going to be permanently set for your account after that point.

I suggest four options to correct or avoid this type of problem for users in the future:

  • Allow users the ability to change their Nickname.
  • Add text right next to the Nickname field that says something along the lines of,"This will be your Nickname for any and all future reviews. It is permanent and cannot be changed."
  • Don't include the Nickname field in the same container as the review. Perhaps this means that the first time a person goes to complete a review, a prompt comes up asking them to set their Nickname that will be used for all their reviews. Having the Nickname in a separate container/view from the review will help users understand that the nickname is not set on each review, but set once for all reviews.
  • Have users create a Nickname for each and every review. Thus the Nickname lives with the review and is not set on the user.

I just have some ideas on how to one up the competition. I honestly hope that you're already well on your way to doing so. The answer seems so obvious to me. I would like to share it privately.

It's frustrating to go into the local Best Buy's in my area and every store carries the same sad assortment of tacky "body cases" and other useless accessories for Apple Watch and yet the accessories that would generate more interest and sell more, like Bands are non-existent.  I kid you not the store I frequent has been out of Apple's Watch bands since summer. Moreover, if demand for Bands is that high, it would make more sense to clear out some of the other accessories that aren't selling as well and bring more bands into the store.  Even Best Buy's own branded bands they have like 6 of (really 3 because (3) are for 38mm and (3) are for 42mm) and each of those only has 1 or 2 on the hanging tag.  For Apple to invest as much as they have in bands, something tells me Best Buy is leaving a lot of money on the table here (I mean I recall a whole keynote where Tim Cook spent the first 30 minutes focused on refreshed Watch bands -- just saying).

Couple of Power Supply ideas...as a few in the community may know I was looking for a PSU replacement. I of course being the Bestbuy consumer I am looked to Bestbuy first. I was saddened though upon further research how very few filters and actual brands and even the amount of power supplies itself are sold.

Power supplies for gamers is very very important and it is a HUGE grey area where there can be great money made. So I have listed a few points I noticed right away.

1) there is no filter for "modular, semi modular, not modular"

2) there is no filter for SLI/Crossfire compatibility

3) I did not even see THE largest brand out there. Why would you not have Seasonic PSU's? To be totally honest that was the only reason I did not buy mine at Bestbuy.

4) selection is very poor. Marketing needs to understand that there are three groups of people who buy power supplies. The repairmen for the average joe (low wattage), mid level/single video card gamer (mid wattage), and the heavy gamer who has multiple video cards and who probably has a water system(high wattage). There are less than 50 power supplies listed on Bestbuy website that is sad to say, VERY disappointing. Many other large technology retailers have 250+ with a variety of brands. Now mind you, I don't blame you I do think Bestb should limit the brands to the better ones such as Corsair, Thermaltake, Seasonic, and etc.

5) there is no filter for quality certification (bronze, silver, etc)

6)  going back to what I said at the end of #4 about the selection process as well I did notice certain models of PSU were listed that have proven to e ...lesser quality and just shouldn't be used it would arguably be good to see a selection of evaluated power supplies that are actually of decent quality. This isn't to say you can't have some lower tiers for those who don't wish to pay the extra price.

Website improvement, backorders

Status: Tell Us More
by nlanier on ‎11-30-2016 07:49 AM
Implement a tag for items that are backordered!!!!

Customers are having to call CS to find out that the item they ordered is backordered.

How hard is it to show beforehand that the item is backordered?
Status: Tell Us More

I have a feeling it would be extremely difficult to do this as item become backordered and come off backorder on a daily basis. Given the sheer number of items we sell it might be next to impossible to keep the website updated accurately. Would anyone else like to see this as an option? A Kiosk that helps improve customer service by allowing the customer to get what they need right away.

Status: Tell Us More

Could you add clarification to this idea? How would this kiosk allow a customer to get what they want right away?
