Simply put, I'd like to see a return of the surveys and activities on Best Buy's Facebook page that paid out RZ/MyBB points for doing them.

 

They were another way that one could earn RZ/MyBB certificates and stay connected to Best Buy and any sales/promotions that you guys had going on.

I understand that times and conditions change, but the recent changes to the Geek Squad Protection Plan for Mobile Phones is absurd. If the goal is to keep people from getting the plan you are on the right track.

 

I would like to see the plan returned to the way it was: $9.99 per month and no deductable. If this is not feasible, I would recommend at the most a $50 deductable. 

 

The reasons for this is because I can pay the same monthly fee for insurance and pay a lower deductable through my phone carrier. Their plan also covers loss and theft which Geek Squad does not. I do not like dealing with my phone carrier. I have had nice experiences with Best Buy, but for such a higher cost, I will no longer get the Geek Squad Protection on my cell phones. I have purchased all of my families phones at Best Buy for the last 6 years specifically to get your protection plan.

 

Please Change the Mobile Phone Geek Squad Protection Plan so It is at least reasonably affordable.

At the cost of annoying some, I'd like to see something implemented into the website where on certain items, say the SNES classic, you have to input a captcha code, or have a code sent to your phone to verify that it is indeed you who want to purchase it. That way you thwart automated bots and give those who really want the item a fair chance to do so. 

 

Although I already have the SNES Classic, I am open to feedback about this from other fellow shoppers and Best Buy staff.

Points need to be assigned for purchase made using Best Buy gift card, not for buying the gift card, since best buy gift card can be purchased from other stores or website other than best buy.

Please look in to revising the Order Status / Order History page of the site.  The current structure is extremely user unfriendly.    I place a lot of orders on BBY.com (154 in the past 12 months thus far), and a lot of them are pre-orders.  Since the individual product pages don't give me any indication of whether or not I have already ordered an item (like Amazon product pages do - another bit of functionality I'd love to see BBY add by the way), I spend a lot of time sifting through orders on my Order Status / History page.  In its current form, I have to open every single order just to see the items that are in it.

 

In its current form, this page is virtually useless.   There is zero search functionality (especially critical now that item names are no longer listed so a CTRL+F page search won't work either), nor is there the ability to simply view all outstanding "In Process" orders, nor is there the ability to view orders based on when they were shipped.   

 

Specific Functionality Requests:

 

  • Add "You Ordered this Item on XX/XX/XXXX, click here to view this order" funtionality to product pages
  • Add Keyword Search functionality to Order Status page
  • Add Filter functionality to Order Status page (specifically, filter by Order Status)
  • Add Sort By functionality to Order Status page (sort by Order Date or Shipped Date)

Stacking Gift Cards

I think Best Buy should really look into the idea of "stacking" gift cards in an account like Amazon allows you to do.  That was I could have an avaiable balance sitting in my account ready to go.  This would be much easier for when you have multiple small gift cards before you have to get the combined in the store.

I noticed on the website that 1000s of items have free 2-day shipping.  why not offer your elite and elite plus members better discounts and offers throughout the holiday season such as free overnight shipping.  perks should be different than that of offering standard customers the same perks as your high spending customers.  high spending customers deserve better perks than whats offered to the general public.

 

maybe send a survey out to elite plus members to what major perk they'd like to see and other seasonal benefits.

GCU Alerts

I can't tell you how many times I've found out about a specail edition release only AFTER it's sold out. The most recent is the Destiny Ghost Edition. How about an alert for GCU members that not only tells you when new games are announced but also as soon as Special Edition versions are available? As far as I know, no one else is doing this.

I really like this idea! Should the alerts come as emails or texts? I could see problems with members changing their email address or phone number, not telling us, and then being upset that they didn't get the alerts. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this idea? Restructuring of GCU

One of 2 things need to happen.

At a basic minimum, A prompt needs to alert a customer when they are about to exceed the maximum number of discounts on a product (3 of the same game) warning them that going through with the purchase could void their GCU.

After that things A prompt to allow them to purchase the game without the discount and not affect their status.

At the VERY minimum a prompt would allow them to purchase it without being under their account which would not give grounds for BBY to terminate their GCU. This would still be bad for the customer as it wouldn't tie their account to the purchase meaning no points (let alone double points benefit of GCU for games). This could at least be circumvented by the customer by doing a report missing points through myRZ.com, but like I said not an option that's ideal for customers.

Introduce My BestBuy Milestones

This is basically a way for BestBuy to provide positive reinforcement as customers spend their way to elite/elite plus status. Divide $3500 by 10 milestones each time a person passes one $350 milestone they get $10 in RZ pts along with a milestone marker. The markers can be combined with the My BestBuy wishlist/fulfillment promo since they`re both designed for the same thing brand loyalty and repeat customers.

In order for BestBuy`s video game trade in program to fully prosper and become the premier elite service it should be there needs to be more than just the 50% and 100% bonuses. Buy adding coupons that are giving based on the amounts of trade credit acquired BestBuy can turn those trades into sales. And since the trade credit can be used on any store items the coupons and generated sales strengthen the entire BestBuy brand. Here`s the blueprint $50 worth of trades gets you a $5 giftcard w/any $75 purchase &10% off any $100 purchase coupons $75 - $10 GC w/any $100 purchase & 15% off any $150 purchase coupons $100 - 2 B2G1 coupons 1 for new games & 1 for used games. $125 - $15 GC w/any $150 purchase & an additional 10% off all used games in 1 transaction coupons $150 - 1 B2G2 used game and added 20% off 1 used game coupons $175 - $25 GC w/any $200 purchase & an additional 30% off all used games in 1 transaction coupons $200 - B3G3 used games, $50 GC w/any $250 purchase, additional 50% off 1 used game, additional 50% off all used games in 1 transaction coupons $250 - Pick any 3 coupons $275 - Pick any 5 coupons $300 - Pick any 6 coupons + $100 GC w/any $450 purchase coupon The 10% discount on used games would need to stack with the used game coupon deals.

I have tried and tried to get Best Buy to get your affiliate CowBoom set up so it can accept Best Buy Gift Cards. It is incredulous that a Company Owned by Best Buy and who holds contests giving Best Buy Gift Cards refuses to accept them in exchange for payment. To make matters worse CowBoom "Your Company" Accepts Amazon Gift Cards but not your own. It makes it seem as though your saying BB GC's aren't worth anything compared to your competition. You really need to get this corrected and start accepting Best Buy Gift Cards at CowBoom immediately!

I love these monthly B2G1 Preowned Video Games promotion that Bestbuy is giving us. The only downside to this sale online is a large portion of the games listed are sold out and say "Not available for shipping."

 

I often find myself wasting time scrolling through thousands of video games, half of which are out of stock, just to find 3 games that I want which are in stock. I think an easy solution to this would be to add an option on the "narrow your results" pane on the left side, allowing us to omit items that are "Not available for shipping" 

 

If you lower the time it takes to find 3 games, then I may be able to use that spare time to find 3 more games.

I know Bestbuy is "new" to videogames trades but you've been doing it long enough. The two main issues that have haunted the program are

1- Not getting the 10% bump during ALL trades

2- Not getting the 10% discount on ALL used games in a transaction

It is UNEXCEPTABLE that the "trained" staff denies even trying to correct the issues via override and/or multiple attempts citing "double dipping" when it`s clearly stated that these are PERKS. Even worse, perks of a PAID PROGRAM which is currently failing to live up to your promises and our expectations.

I know for sure you`re aware of how the program works(should work) but at this point it`s clear that it`s not being correctly addressed on the frontlines to the detriment of the program. Since it`s taken this long please give the customers the ability to show the staff where they`re wrong. That way the only remaining issue is resolution vs resistance. A promo board wouls alos show non-members what they`re missing not being unlocked thus serving two purposes.

Example,

A game trades in for $10 base, $15 during the 50% bonus and GCU members get another 10% totalling 60% thus $16

A game trades in for $10 base, $20 during the 100% bonus and GCU members get another 10% totalling 110% thus $21

Give out GCU cards that actually state "Don`t forget the 10%" or even better start a where`s my 10% promo.

The 10% not applying to all used games in one transaction or promo already has an unresolved ideax thread. I don`t think the problem is being ignored but it certainly hasn`t been corrected.

Requesting for what we've paid for should not be taken lightly nor should it be okay for store managers to shoulder shrug the problem.

With the huge success of Amazon Prime(Over 20 million customers @ $79/yr =cha ching) BB needs to really step it`s game up. It`s a good way to earn additional revenue, sales and loyal customers. Adding services to your version can bring other partnerships which can extend the BestBuy brand

Here's a suggestion, Best Buy: print the last day of a customer's return period according to the day they purchase on the receipt. For example, I make a purchase today, the 10th, and the receipt would say I have through April 25th to make a return or exchange. It's made clear to the customer how long they have and gives workers at the store a direct place to point out the time frame of it when someone comes in outside the return period begging to have the rules bent for them. Benefits for both sides for not much effort.

I like the idea, but I do see one problem that will come up. The return or exchange period starts the date a customer took possession of their purchase. In the vast majority of cases this is the same day they paid for their items.

 

In some cases the dates are not the same. When a customer is purchasing something large (i.e. Large TV, Appliances, etc...) they have the option to have these delivered, and their return or exchange date would be based off the date we delivered their purchase. In addition our stores can also order products for customers, and in these cases the date of purchase would not be the same as the date they took possession of their purchase. Does anyone have any addition insights into this idea? Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

It wasn`t until recently that I found out console trade ins didn`t recieve MyBB pts like videogames. I hope BB changes course and allows them to be added in just like with games, I under there`s no 50%/100% bonus on console trades which makes sense but even GS give PUR points on console trades. We`re now officially in year two of the new GCU, we`ve been showing alot of love and support for the program return the favor with a few programs tweaks the program should always be evolving.

Currently if you spend $3,500 in a calendar year you reach Elite Plus status which is great. For example if you reach elite plus in 2014 your good until February 2016. I would like the clock to reset once you reach the $3,500 or have another goal that can get you another year of elite plus.

On the Best Buy College Discount page email subscriptions are restricted to only students that have email addresses that end in .edu (and by that I will also infer that education discounts are only available to .edu students.)

 

In 2012, ICANN, the internet naming authority, approved over 250 new top level domains (TLDs.) TLDs, therefore, are no longer limited to the old standards of .com, .net, .edu. For example, my school now issues its students email addresses ending with .Institute, one of the new TLDs. .Academy is another obvious TLD.

 

I would like to propose that Best Buy eliminate the .edu requirement to bring their educational discount policy up to current internet naming standards.
