Fry's.com is a legit store/site on par with Target/Wal-Mart most would rather price match them vs buying from them. That keeps all the MyBB pts coming.

Elite Standard are for those that don't need their orders in a hurry but still want to make purchases without having to worry about meeting the minimum $25 to get free shipping. They will also have the option to get discounted Expedited or Express shipping on a per item basis.
Elite Prime are for those that want their orders in 1-2 days. They will also have the option to get discounted Express overnight shipping on a per item basis.
I have also added some additional bonus My Best Buy Points for in store purchases. This is because Best Buy will save shipping cost on in store purchases but the 3X and 5X bonuses should also give incentive for Standard and Prime members to shop in your stores.
I was at the store on Atlantic Blvd in Jacksonville, FL looking for a gift bag for my purchase, but I did not find one, so I just gave the gift in the blue plastic bag it was placed in by the cashier. I asked the store workers about gift bags and one searched for me, but determined that there weren't any gift bags sold by Best Buy, but said that a gift bag was a great idea. I think that Best Buy should partner with a greeting card company, or allow a vendor to set up shot in their stores so gift giving can become more touching with gift cards and gift bags.
The price match policy is already naturally setup to maintain customer loyalty to BB even at the cost of profit. But making a minor permanent change on the backend could actually turn price matches into something truly special for both Best Buy and the loyal BestBuy customers.
If a customer price matches a $150 item down to $100 then BB should auto issue a coupon which then rewards the customer for spending the $50 saved on a future purchase. The rewards scale should decrease the longer it takes for the customer to spend the $50 & the customer would have to spend at least the $50 to recieve any rewards. They should also get a larger reward base upon how much more than $50 they spend.
The customer should have 30 days to spend the saved amount before the coupon expires. So if they spend the $50 in the 1st 48 hours they get a bonus 5x mybb pts 6x if spending more then $50. Then 4x for the rest of the 1st week, 3x for the 2nd week, 2x for the 3rd & finally 1x for the final week.A cycle like this well promoted will give BB the edge in keep customers spending their money at BB.
The Blueprint Lounge is a web application design center where customers can configure their ideal spaces using the existing Best Buy products. This idea is similar to the IKEA’s planner with the focus on Best Buy. The customer will have the experience of building their dream living room, home theater and even kitchen. For Best Buy, interactive information bubbles will inform the customer about GSP options, tech support, financing options and installation information.
Once the customer has completed their design they can save it on their personal systems, print or even email it. They will also have the option to share with friends using social media such as Tweeter, Facebook, Instagram and Pin-it.
The idea will help driver internet traffic to Best Buy’s websites while promoting Best Buy’s products and services all the while creating a greater experience for the customer to interact with the best Buy virtually.
For people like me who are getting confused about their current point balance, I think an extra "running balance" column in the "purchase history" link would be helpful to help members keep better track of their points. It will be like how credit card websites do it.

Since GCU isn`t supposed to be shared even within the household & the limits that apply to 1 current account hurts the subs value if only 1 $10 pre-order bonus can be earned or just 3 titles can be purchased. So offer a GCU "household subscription account geared towards multiple people sharing one expanded account. Reduce the upfront cost to $80-$100 but add value to the subscription by unrestricting it. Since the subs are shared the $80-$100 would actually be cheaper than the current GCU 2 people paying $50 would cover the yr.
You would then get the 20% off up to 6 of the same titles per account & up to 3 promos like the $10 pre-order credit per account. Any more of either benefit beyond the limits would be subject to a $2 or $3 a la carte fee vs a account suspension or banning. If a customer feels it`s worth for a 7th discounted title then the $2-$3 fee would auto-add.
I think there should be some other benefits added to justify such a high upfront cost just like with the current $120 GCU most currently have existing ideax threads already. Being able to cater to all shoppers is paramount.
Games like Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 are coming up and I think it's silly that I won't get the credit for reserving them. These are big titles and the Wii U has an install base just under the PS4's and higher than the XBOX One's. The 3DS is doing fantastic and was the best seller for last year.
Why aren't these Nintendo consoles part of the Get 10 promotion?
I read in your ads that you say you can upgrade to "X" amount of ram and a bigger hard drive for a little more money. That is fine. But it seems more of an upsell then to customize a computer.
But some customers who may walk into your store may be intimidated by prices and or specs. At least group your desktops into sections, one for Gaming, One for Basics , One section for business use , etc.
And Insignia , by entering into the PC monitor market, lets hope you can expand this to entry level desktops and deliver even more value on the solid brand you already have in the store.
Currently the BestBuy iOS app has an old user interface and does not align well with the new design movement by Apple and other companies. By updating the app to iOS 7 standards, the app should perform better and increase its app ratings and use.

So I learned today that Best Buy changed its policy a while back about post purchase price matching. I used to have 30 days to find a cheaper price somewhere else and you would match it, no questions. Now, post purchase, Best Buy will not match any competitors price. They will only make an adjustment if they lower it on-line or in the Best Buy stores within 15 days of purchase.
Pretty dramatic reduction in service, shows a lack of competetive pricing on Best Buys part, they obviously have had their prices beaten so often that rather than be more competetive, they choose to change the policy.
Best Buy now moves down a notch below those retailers who have more confidence in their pricing suchg as Home Depot and Amazon
This was of course a rumor a while back and no one knew for sure if it was real or not but we need something above Silver. As of now you have to spend $2500 or higher but what about the people who spend higher than that? I've heard of Reward Zone taking select members to college football games as well, we need more of a better higher tier for people who spend lots year after year. Here is a few ideas and maybe people can comment on it and or add some ideas or take some away.
Spend $5,000 per year to get to top level
VIP line for crowded days so there should be no wait in line
VIP priority for mobile phone area with skip to front of line
90 day return policy
VIP card instead of giving phone number or printing one off
2 day advance sale on silver members for black friday
Fridge stocked in store with water/soda for VIP/Black members (You can keep a mini fridge behind customer service)
2x Points on all purchases
Also Hilton Gives its top members reserved parking so maybe we can get reserved parking as well
Early entry on sales days like Tax Free Weekend or other sales you might have
Also get all of the silver benefits in addition to the above
These are just some ideas but you get the idea here, as I have spent above the 5K mark I feel like I need more rewards
Maybe it's just me but the IdeaX/forums section is like NEVER advertised. I've been a BestBuy silver member for two years running and I am just now even finding out about this place. I am one of these type of people who believe a company can only expand/grow by the feedback that is provided to them. I think that the forums/IdeaX should be advertised more so. This could also benefit BestBuy in the "customer service" area as then it would show that BestBuy is actually listening/taking the time to pass the feedback onwards.
I know I have heard several people in the past say that Best Buy has bad customer service ( personally they have been excellent...) but I feel like BestBuy should take that extra mile step.
I am not an employee of Best Buy, nor the most technologically advanced person in the world, but I think that Best Buy needs to better utilize their store employees in order to create a competitive advantage and to differentiate themselves from competitors. Their greatest strength is the knowledge of their employees, and this asset is often not turned into a sale. What if Best Buy was able to bundle this knowledge into a sale? I think that Best Buy tries to cater to highly technological customers, whereby they should also try to reach out to the less technologically advanced consumers? What if Best Buy offered a free half hour individual training session to customers who purchased their product? This would allow customers the opportunity to gain an understanding of their newly purchased product. I think that less technologically advanced customers would choose a product at Best Buy over Amazon, Wal-Mart, or other competitors due to this option. This service would also allow employees an opportunity to teach customers about their products, rather than always focusing on selling the product. This service could also be a new revenue stream for Best Buy by marketing it to people who bought their product elsewhere. Do people think that this business model could be possible and beneficial for Best Buy?
With new consoles here & more coming there needs to be a more dedicated focus towards getting customers to upgrade to the new consoles. I'd love to see a "trade in your old/current gen system & get $100-$150 towards a new system" combined with additional incentives to trade in the consoles with games/accessories. With the right trade promo we should be able to get a new console along with a warranty for 40%-50% off the total price w/o any trades.
It would be great to see ShopKick implemented onto BestBuy.com. ShopKick is available on iPhone and Android as a way for customers to "check-in" to stores and earn points. Customers earn one point per dollar spent just like Reward Zone. Is it possible to implement this on BestBuy.com?
I recently took a trip to my local Best Buy. My wife and I had bought a new oven there in December and she racked up plenty of rewards points on her account from that and I have my own rewards points that I wanted to use. I printed off her rewards certificate and went in to get something yesterday. I handed the rewards certificate to the cashier, and then went to show her my certificate on my phone, to which I was promptly told you can only use one rewards account at a time. This seems very counterintuitive to me. I am more apt to purchase something, especially of greater value, if I am able to use two rewards certificates from two different rewards accounts. There needs to be some way to combine these. Needless to say, I did not end up making a purchase yesterday because without being able to combine the two rewards certificates, the item was out of the price range of what I was willing to pay.
Then I thought, well maybe I can purchase a gift card with my wife's rewards cert and use that along with my rewards cert. And come to find out, you can't use a rewards cert to purchase a gift card. This too seems counterintuitive because you can use the rewards cert as currency to purchase something but not load it as currency onto a gift card?
I can't believe it's this hard for me to use some rewards certificates in combination.
It seems like it would be simple to just allow the system to use two different rewards certificates from two different rewards accounts.
I think it's kinda crappy that you put an auto-issue on the Reward Certificates. We should be able to save them and use them at OUR discretion since WE are the ones purchasing items. Let us choose when to use them.
