I would like to see Best Buy copy the program they have up in Canada at FutureShop for video game steelbooks. It would be great to get more exclusive video game steelbooks as pre-order bonuses. Best Buy here in the USA does offer steelbooks for video games but it is only on rare occassions.
FutureShop's Video Game Steelbook Program
Upcoming Steelbooks from FutureShop
Lightning Returns Final Fantasy Xiii
Thief
Titanfall
I think these are reasonable things to add to the current unlocked membership program. Shouldn't cost Best Buy much to implement and gives a little bit more reason to join.
Currently, Best Buy Gamer's Club Unlocked members save 20% off new games. This is a great feature, and that's why I don't mind paying for the new (much more expensive) service. However, the exclusion of digital games makes me less likely to purchase more titles.
Since we're now paying $120 for a 2 year subscription, it seems logical to include digital console titles seeing as how digital is the future. Many of us gamers want to move away from having physical copies, and instead have digital copies.
Going with this, the amount of digital games for systems like Xbox One and Playstation 4 are extremely lacking. I'd love to see more games available, similar to how Amazon has done, so I may purchase more!
I know there are many other PS4 owners who would take advantage of this if it was offered.
Since The Last of Us and other PS exclusives were part of the similar $20 promotion last year it only makes sense for this title to be a part of this one.
Besides, if Xbox gamers can have Titanfall on this promotion, why can't Playstation gamers have Infamous?
Thanks for all the input on this idea. We have made the following changes to our Gamers Club Unlocked Memberships.
The limits for using your Unlocked membership will be three copies of a New (i.e. not pre owned) gaming software title per platform, per year. Collector’s and Limited Editions count toward that title limit. Game of the Year editions, usually released much later including additional content do not count toward that limit but would essentially start as a separate game and limit.
There are quite a few games that could be added to this promotion. These are just some ideas. Granted, not all of them are going to come out this year but at least five are going to for sure.
The Order 1886
Bloodborne
Uncharted 4
Kingdom Hearts 3
Metal Gear Solid 5
Borderlands The Handsome Collection
Just Cause 3
The Division
Scalebound
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Forza Motorsport 6
Crackdown
Quantum Break
The gaming team does review these requests, but I should say that it is not exclusively up to us as to what titles become part of this promotion, and often times it is up to the developer as to which titles become part of this promotion. Thanks for all the input on this idea.
i have an item in my wish list that is currently backordered 4 to 7 weeks. it would be great to see a "notify me" when the item is in stock and ready for purchase, maybe even a notification sent your phone from the best buy application saying that, "this item is available for purchase!"
i don't know if anyone else has brought up this idea or not, but would be great to see this feature implemented on the website as well as on the smart phone application(s) across iPhone and Android.
hope other customers agree and make this happen! especially around the holiday season.
I know I would like to see this for sure, whether it gets added to the "Preorder and Get $10 in Reward Certificates" promotion, or gets a free $10 gc launch week, etc.
Other games that have been relased multiple times on various platforms (GTA V, Halo) are getting the $10 Reward Certificate treatment once again, so why not for the Ultimate Evil edition, which is coming to some platforms (PS4, Xbox One) for the very first time?
With Best Buy being a Electronics/Technology/Media Store, a Customer Service Department dedicated specifically for gaming needs through it Toll-Free Phone Customer Service that deals in only Gaming should be created and established. Since Video Games are always a high selling products and with Best Buy having the Gamers Club Unlocked Program, it would be a way to push it more. This Department could help Best Buy Customers in many ways and help fix problems such as:
Any problems with Pre-Order bonus's or other digital orders/items (EX: Codes not received)
Price Adjustments of video games when best buy lower the price, especially with keeping GCU Discounts in mind on top of the adjustments.
Problems with GCU Activating correctly at purchase or not applying to games correctly
Problems with Pre-Order $10 Certificates not showing up on accounts when they should
Any potential Trade-In Problems
Not receiving Welcome coupons from GCU when signing up
Any Gaming Promos not applying correctly to a order
A big one is also the hassle of dealing with a majority of both phone reps and in store reps who after a year still does not know the in and out of the GCU Program
It will help keep the work off of the Forum mods since a majority of the problems on here are for adjustments problems and also GCU not apply discount right and the normal everyday phone reps and in store reps are giving false or informed information since it not there specific department.
and many many more reasons
Others customers probably can also input very good reason to make this happen. Especially since due to the normal everyday employees who have not much knowledge of many of best buy special programs especially GCU there is more frustration and problems that the customers must burden with constantly having to keep trying over and over until they get that single employee who is informed.
We will not be moving forward on this idea.
Casio just published a new camera Casio Tr200. Many of my friends want to buy this camera, but we cannot find it in Best Buy. Can Best Buy provide this camera for us to shop? We will love to see that !!
Best Buy should sell this DLC stand alone for the Vegito character. Its sold on ebay for up to 135 dollars!! I'd gladly pay 10 to a reliable/trustworthy source like Best Buy rather than risk an ebay scam! Namco doesn't seem to plan to release it in USA on the PSN and i understand your company has a contract with bandai Namco for this item.
Dragon Age is a major multi-platform title from EA that will have multiple versions this October for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4. It's a perfect candidate for this promotion.
I was wondering if there was any way to implement a filter to hide the used video games that are not available for shipping. 3,400 games at 50 games per page takes an extremely long time to click through, especially when the majority of the games say they are not available for shipping.
A checkbox under "Narrow Your results" that says "In Stock For shipping" and pulls all the BBY.com in-stock items would be greatly helpful and would most likely boost sales from others who also dread scrolling through all 68 pages of used games.
Thanks for the suggestion.
It would be awesome if Best Buy Stores will stop putting price tags on the DVD/Blu-ray sleeves as they are a major pain to remove without ripping the sleeve apart. When ordering movies from sites online (including Best Buy.com), the price stickers are never on the sleeves. Other stores sometimes have stickers on the sleeves as well but they are nowhere as hard to remove as the Best Buy one. Another electronic retailer, Fry's Electronics, puts their price tags on the plastic shrink wrap of a movie instead of the sleeve which I think is an amazing idea when I found out about it. It's just a pain if someone has a movie collection and there's a giant price tag on it that can't be removed
I revisited this idea as I hadn't heard anything definitive, and at this time we are not changing the stickers we apply to media. Thanks for the feedback on this one.
Other retail sites are offering this for pre-order, can Best Buy get this on the website sooner rather than later for pre-order?
Although these titles are currently sold out we do now have them on BestBuy.com.
1. Add a link to all reviews submitted under an account. Link the reviews to the account rather than an unlinked handle.
2. Allow reviewers to update a previously submitted review.
Would anyone else like to see this change to our product reviews? Make sure to vote for an idea if you like it.
To better serve customer service Best Buy should implement a live chat customer support feature on Bestbuy.com to help handle problems/general questions in regards to orders, adjustments, and price matches.
The phone support system is very dated and always problematic due to constant disconnects when transferred and then several reps not understanding what we are trying to explain in certain situations. And in regards to price matches and adjustments it would make the process more smooth, faster, and less painless for the consumer. There are several pros to having a live chat support feature on the bestbuy.com website:
We do provide live chat on our website, and these agents can provide policy information and post-purchase price matches.
I would like the ability to pre-order items that are "coming soon" (example: the Kobo Glo) and be notified whe the item is ready to be shipped / picked up at a store so that I can move on with my life and not have to check back at bestbuy.com every day to see if it's out yet.
Collector’s Editions/Limited Editions/Steel Books, some of us love then. Others could not care less. Often the difference compared to a “regular” edition can be nothing more than a different box art. There are gamers who do appreciate these little extras but sometimes the price requested is just not agreeable. So there can be instances when these special editions will sit on the shelf (taking up extra space) much longer than it’s vanilla counterpart who may gone on sale multiple times or who may be eligible on a certain month for an @gamer discount. It is that the collector’s editions(in terms of @Gamer sales coupons) seem to get… overlooked.
Just an example, the @Gamer coupons could be a 50% off to include all boxed variations and platforms (when applicable). That way there is no need for BB staff to concern themselves with or worry about “questionable” coupons as all variances of a game are covered on ONE coupon. I know this would alleviate a lot of “I need to check this out with my manager”, or “I’m not sure if this is the correct title”. Simplifying the BB reps duties and streamline the customers experience created a better shopping (and working) experience for all parties involved.
With the increase to $60 a year normally($120 for 2 with NO discount, really?), Best Buy should be focused on trying to attract new customers to pony up the cash for a subscription. But when regular consumers can pay only $15 for a year at Gamestop and still get their physical magazine, 10% off on pre-owned and a 10% bump on trade-ins it seems like less and less of a good value to grab the GCU sub at Best Buy.
Sure. You have the 20% off new games and you do have the welcome packets(when/IF they get sent out on time), but even those have been nerfed. Gone is the B2G1 coupon on NEW games that would stack with Black Friday pricing, replaced by......nothing. Even the 20% discount wasn't working initially on Black Friday with sale prices, which was disappointing and infuriating, since we paid for that discount in the revamped program.
Now with @Gamer going away with this month's issue, we're reliant on the bi weekly or so coupons that EVERY Gamer's Club member gets and within the last couple of weeks those have been reduced down from three coupons to two the last couple of cycles.
So what's left? We do get the 10% on game trade-ins still. But that's only IF we constantly remind the employees we're GCU and to click the little button to check it off to give us the bonus. Not to mention the fact that the trade values as of late make Gamestop's look generous by comparison and the lack of trade promotions besides the requisite 50/100% ones and the infrequency of them make wanting to trade at BB just not worth it anymore.
As I said at the beginning of this, you want to add features to attract new customers and retain current ones, not take them away while jacking up the price to 4x what a program cost prior.
Hopefully you guys can find a way to bring back @Gamer and the sometimes awesome coupons(not the last couple of months sadly) as I feel that GCU needs all the help it can get to attract new customers.
