Hello, First to tell you that I am not a regular "Best Buy" customer for many reasons.
First to be a store that would meet my requirements is that you would have to fall in line with websites like Monoprice, or Bestlinknetware. They sell a quality cable that are good enough for the television and radio stations at a low price but you do not even try to enter this market. If something is good enough for professional and commercial use, it is good enough for me at home.
Second is that you don't carry the newest and best. You put yourself in a phone retailers market, and for what reason I have no idea. I suggest if you only want to carry and advertise cell phones etc... To open your own phone store.
Third -- When was the last time you tried to buy a media player at a Best Buy? Yes you have them, but how many do you sell that will allow watching AVI file content from a home network?
Forth the Tivo market. Again, you are trying to sell to the Geeks, but you just don't get it. Why don't you just point your browser to Channelmastertv and see what they are selling?
Fifth-The low end computer market. Wow, I can buy an Android computer from Ebay for $60, and I mean the new stuff. Direct from China. Listen, for the most part your products are made in China anyway. Maybe you should look at importing direct from the low cost Chinese market and back the products yourself. Easily a decent mark up to do this
Best buy recently stopped caring the Insignia NS-B2111 bookshelf speaker. Right at the time the internet blogs starting exploding with what a great bargain and product this speaker was. Best buy had it priced well under a hundred a set and is truly an incredible product. This speaker is very high regarded in the audio community now ( after you stopped selling them) and is considered a " Giant Killer" Please bring these guys back as with all the " buzz" on the net you will sell them like crazy now! Nothing sounds better unless you do 6x to 10x the price!
It seems to take a while for product to get to customers. With that said maybe the warehouses should be moved to Memphis (or surrounding area) and Louisville. Both locations are major hubs one for FedEx and the other UPS. This would help get product across the country swiftly and efficiently. This could even help with competing with Amazon and help with ship to store orders.
I realize the title of my posting may be a little bit crazy, or not understandable, but one of the companies Best Buy owns, Future shop has their online forums tied into their website that allows a guest when browsing the site , to ask a question. The question then comes onto the forums, and people have a chance to answer and vote on it. The one with the most votes at the end of the "Kudoing" gets marked as a good answer and the reply is sent back to the anonymous guest.
I can see where this system can get abused by spam, and lots of people hate to use those god awful reCaptcha systems, but forums integration with the Best Buy site, would be a pretty neat next step for how BestBuy.com functions.
On the lower-right of many product category pages a link to the appropriate product board is provided there, and on some BestBuy.com pages individual threads are linked to on BestBuy.com. In addition a customer can now post questions to Best Buy Unboxed directly from the Questions and Answers portion of our companies Facebook page. We continue to integrate all parts of Best Buy online.
It's become clear confirmed by local employees at my local Best Buy Store that they won't be carrying physical game discs anymore because their research led to believe that people download games more then buy them on disc
That is fine, as I don't have anymore room for them to be honest. But Best Buy has potential in their download platform and not everyone can use a credit card online to use your services. I remember back in the day purchasing a new game along with a new computer. Don't think this is possible anymore.
Also, maybe partner up with the digital gaming service STEAM and sell Steam Wallet Vouchers people can purchase in the store and load into their wallet so they don't have to use their credit cards online.
Please continue to be my store of digital technology awesomeness and give more love to PC Gamers.
PDF Copies of Product Manuals
I looked at the refrigerator I purchased and there is NO
on line product manual available.
Harbor Freight and lots of other retailers have manuals and
parts list available on line.
Why NOT Best Buy?
I would like to see a pair of glasses capable of viewing rf frequncies. You would dial the glasses into a certain frequency like a radio and the rf would be converted to video to see radiating patterns which could also be displayed in various colors per the frequency.
There is a trend going around where people on various sites are ordering games now and waiting for the day of the sale, they kiow that bestbuy will adjust the price the day of the sale. This is another way stock to get ate up for online orders.
There are people they make it thier job too purchase multiple copies of games not to give as presents but too resale for profit, bestbuy could possible limit purchases of each game thats on sale to one per customer.
I recently searched for and purchased a USB multiport for my laptop but was disappointed that I could not find one that attached directly to my laptop port without a cable. The cable allows the multliport to 'dangle', risking damage or loss. Can you build one that is compact, has three or four ports to the outside, a single male extension on one side to 'mate' snugly with my laptop? Adjustable clips to keep it securely fastened would be very important...even velcro attachments might work.
That's my idea, I hope someone can develop it! (I have a Google Sketchup drawing but was't able to insert it.)
Thank you, John L. {removed per forum guidelines}
I am a weekly buyer (silver premier) for movies/tv stuff (blu-ray/dvd), music, and video games for all of the various gaming systems (yes, I know it's overkill). Ever since the website has been updated to it's current "Weekly Deals" listing, I am continuously missing out on the discounted pricing on new release music & movies!!! I don't have time to go to movie theaters or go shopping during "normal" hours.
Am I the only person who is completely frustrated with the lack of info regarding that week's new releases? There's less of an issue once the new releases have happened but customer's end up missing out on some of the best buy exclusive/pre-order content due to selling out too quickly.
The only thing that I splurge on for myself is my music, my movies, & my gaming! I have been forced to use alternative shopping methods to get what I want but it is becoming a pain in the badupey trying to make sure I don't miss out on deals...especially when it comes to music and movies. Being able to pre-order that week's releases & having the option to have it mailed for free or pick it up in the store is a HUGE help for me.
Isn't there an easy link somebody can write into the website to locate new releases upcoming? Just a helpful suggestion.
So I was doing some scavenging around the site and found premium for the Xbox360 and PS3 versions, but I was surprised it wasn't available for PC (Windows). Other DLCs are offered for the PC so why not premium? With Battlefield being one of the biggest selling and most popular franchises for PC gaming, why not offer the premium DLC?
One of the most important reasons that amazon is expanding dramatically is its low prices of almost everything. Why amazon can sell many goods with nearly zero profit? Because there are thousands of vendors who pay 10-20% commission in its marketplace. Newegg, one of the largest online electronics vendors, just opened its marketplace to individual sellers. Give more choices to customers and they will spend more time in your store, no matter it's online or physical. Please contact me if you are interested in more discussions. Thank you.
Best Buy have the dimensions and weight listed; however it would be most helpful if the shipping weight of the complete package was also included in product speficfication.
Pretty self-explanatory, we walk a lot of business of people looking for the unlocked iPhone 4S as we have no choice but to refer them to Apple or one of our competitors. Carrying this item would not only help solidify Best Buy Mobile as the place to get your new cell phone, but it would boost revenue and reduce disappoint from customers purchasing the iPhone outright and believing it to be unlocked.
I see we now offer the iPhone in an unlocked version, and that would include the iPhone 4s.
So as a Best Buy Employee from the moment I have joined, I never stop finding myself creating things that not just have benefited my district but my store.
With the great success of all my ideas, I've had a primary focus of the customer end of our business. Its what drives me. However this idea, isn't something I can start at my store level like everything else. It pretty much has to come from above.
My Idea is the emails to customer about weekly deals. The concept is that we tailor our emails to the customer and provide services based off that purchase.
Similar to Apple's and Amazon's Model, we have what they don't. Solutions. For Ex.
I purchase Macbook Pro at Apple Store. I am sent an email specifically tailored to my purchase with info and start guides about it.
If we followed that model we could better achieve customer satisfaction not just online but instore with these emails providing information and what other customers have bought with it and quick guides we have on our bestbuy.com site. This can go hand in hand with tablet video trainings we have when some one buys a tablet. (Makes sense doesn't?)
Following off that Amazon's great model is its special deals. However Best Buy won't be able to match some of those offers and lets face it. However If we tailored customer purchases with deals they could get for their product in an email. That, would be a great benefit for the customer.
I don't shop for TV's. So when I get a "Great Deal on TV's". Frankly, it doesn't tailor to my benefits. However sending me emails about deals on External Hard Drives and Flash Drives. Well then as a customer I would know more deals for something I would want.
Problem with our current model is that its generic. That sucks. If I treat customers I interact with a unique tailoring to what they need then why not their emails?
Bottom line, my proposal is we change our email delivery system not by generic email's but by purchases and services based off the products. Even more importantly services.
Tech Support for a purchase of 2 PC's and a tablet and it isn't on the reciept? Either it wasn't what a customer wants or they didn't understand its great benefits, regardless giving them the option to see their choices is us as Best Buy saying " We care, so heres how we can show you"
Thanks.
