I have noticed that 18-Month Financing is no longer an option for most purchases nearing $1000 or more. From what I remember from last month or so when I used financing, I was offered 18 months as a pay off time. Best Buy, get yourself together because you are ruining your customer base! The business model that you and your competitors do is "follow one another and not be unique!" I have written about No Points for Financing and now I'm writing about this. You need to be different from your competitors instead of going with the flow!
For exmaple, I purchased a camera and used financing to pay it off, and was offered 18 months to finance. The same camera now is only offered 12 month financing. When did this occur? I can guarantee that none of your frequent and tiered customers weren't notified of this change just like the No Points with Financing. You should be notifying customers of all your changes such as this to avoid the complaints and in-store arguments with managers.
Bring back 18 Month financing for purchases over your original thresholds!
Best Buy has a Customer Survey at the bottom of every reciept that offers "a chance for a $5000 shopping spree". Honestly most people won't take the survey for a chance at something. Most other companies offer something of true value (Food places offer free small food items or a small discount, some stores offer a $$ discount on next purchase.)
I would suggest offer RZ points for a completed survey instead of the "chance" at a shopping spree. It would build value towards your brand (My Best Buy) and give customers something they can actually use. Obviously you can prevent abuse by limiting the amount of surveys per day/week/month that award points due to the requirement of having be attached to a My Best Buy account.
It doesn't have to be a lot, 20-50 points may be good enough per survey. Most companies are putting value in these surveys so this benefit would drive awareness as well.
I know I would like to see this for sure, whether it gets added to the "Preorder and Get $10 in Reward Certificates" promotion, or gets a free $10 gc launch week, etc.
Other games that have been relased multiple times on various platforms (GTA V, Halo) are getting the $10 Reward Certificate treatment once again, so why not for the Ultimate Evil edition, which is coming to some platforms (PS4, Xbox One) for the very first time?
I'm not sure about the implications of my request are and I will probably not get much support because I'm a very specific market, but would it be possible to add more ID documents options when trading in (video games, electronics, etc)?
I'm guessing there is a good amount of foreign people that get into your stores regularly, I'm one of them.
I'm a GCU member and I do a lot of my video games shopping in your stores but I've been denied when trying to trade in games because I don't have a state ID, this cuts one of the GCU benefits (10% trade in bonus).
This has caused me to take my business elsewhere. And when I say elsewhere I mean it. I can take my games to every other store that does trade ins without a problem (target, gamestop, walmart which are the most popular) and that's because they accept passport as a valid ID.
I hope my idea is considered as I would like to consolidate all my video game related shopping (at least) in your store.
This seems to be ac ommon issue with UPS/Bestbuy due to the BestBuy regulations for the way they are shipped and what can/cannot be changed about the delivery of these orders ( even for the UPS premiums! )
I would like to suggest that these are stipulations are at least partially removed to help lessen the burden it has on the working class here. Ideas for stipulation removals or changes are:
-The ability for a user to go to the tracking number and uncheck signature requirement. I say this should be available on the phones because if you can do this on a $2,000 computer it should be available on a $800 phone...
-The ability for UPS premium members to set their own time to delivery. I am not sure how many of you are UPS premium members/or know the good little options out there for this membership but one of them is you can select what time the delivery arrives ( well it's more of a time frame but still ). The problem is I found out from a friend that the specific stipulations that BestBuy has in place for phones even goes higher than the premium benefits which eliminates this choice.
I wanted to bring up the idea to get customers excited about Electronic Entertainment Expo 2014 that I think it would be a good idea and great deal to offer Buy 2 Get 1 Free on new video game titles the week of E3 2014. (The week of 06/08/14-06/14/14 E3 is 10/11/12)
E3 week would be a good time to push some software sales and pre-orders as gamers get excited about all the new titles to come
Is there anyway that EA Sports UFC can be added to the pre-order list for the $10 certificate? After Watch Dogs, I really believe that's one of the next popular titles upcoming. I know for me personally, this would guarantee that I would be picking up the title from Best Buy on release day. Thanks.
(Sorry, I had posted this in the wrong section earlier.)
It has been made clear that Best Buy wishes to expand the Geek Squad name to be more globally recognized and to utilize the brand for increased profits.
I believe Best Buy/Geek Squad is missing out on an opportunity to get into the competitive gaming scene. Riot Games, the creators of League of Legends is pioneering the world of competitive gaming and legitimizing it as a real sport. The United States government already recognizes it as a legitimate sport, providing travel visas for professional players.
Best Buy/Geek Squad should invest in sponsoring a professional team and/or creating an official Geek Sqaud team to put the face of Geek Squad in the competitive gaming scene. Not only would this give an incredible boost for advertisement and marketing but Geek Squad would have the potential to developer their own brand of PC Gaming gear to be sold.
In case you aren't aware of what League of Legends is, you can visit their official site at http://leagueoflegends.com/ and you can visit the League of Legends professional gaming site at http://lolesports.com.
Just to give you an idea of how big the competitive scene is for gaming, League of Legends sold out the Staples Center in California for the World Championships with a prize pool of over 1 million dollars. With thousands viewing the event live and hundreds of thousands viewing it via online streaming at lolesports.com.
If any company higherup wishes to discuss this further in a serious matter, I encourage you to email me back.
Thanks for your time.
A $10-$20 istant giftcard offer like what was provided for Dark Souls 2 or $10 pre-order credit would be enough to put BB back in play along with GCU.
I have an app that will be of great use for your company! It will help bring customers to your store. I know it will improve sales nationwide! If you want to increase sales and customers coming into your store please contact me!
This may seem like a strange idea however I think it may work out. Why not use some of the resources at your disposal? Many of the super users here have special talents in their own field and (if they are willing) they could help make custom blogs for certain instructions and such.
I.e. myself if somebody wanted a detailed virus removal guide I could make a blog for that, or a related PC product.
So here is an outline of the suggestion:
-A board for blog discussions in it people can "request" certain blogs/guides. The Super Users/Mods would then either discuss who is the most qualified or design one together for that guide/blog.
-A blog section for the super users I know there is one for the actual BBY staff currently.
Again though, this is super user willing.
While browsing my local Best Buy Store. I was looking at the Pay as you go phones and was a little bit dissapointned by the current format. The display is too short on the ground height wise and some selections of phones require stooping down to get the phone. The way they are organized though may confuse people. Also the refill cards are a bit confusing as the order of the merchandise sometime does not correspond with the placement of the refill cards.
So in turn do the following -
Have seperate sections for each brand of pay as you go phone with nice graphics and have the appropriate refill cards stocked. Keep them neatly organized.
Make sure your displays are within comfortable reach for everyone.
Have brochures from the various pay as you go plan and have store display posters for each plan outlining the various pay as you go. Perhaps have a giant resturaunt format style menu right above where the mobile associates are sitting at that shows the different pay as you go formats and the prices for the refills. Tell people about how they can get a better deal if they go online to register the auto pay. I know companies like Tracfone and Net10 give you better airtime rates if you go with a monthly refill program as opposed to buying the cards in the store.
