Veterans Day Discount for veterans

Status: Tell Us More

I would like to propose that Best Buy consider providing military veterans a modest discount on Veterans day each year. I am aware that you keep your pricing low to provide the best value for the money. However many retailers provide military discounts all year long. Some even double that discount on veterans day. As a veteran living on a modest pension along with social security, I have to pinch pennies and look for real deals. If there were a modest discount offered once a year, I might be able to splurge on a new TV or computer.

I appreciate your time and consideration of this suggestion.

Sincerely,

Degolfnut

I hear where you are coming from on this. Would anyone else like to see us provide a Veterans Day Discount each year on Veterans Day? Make sure to vote for an idea if you like it.

A discount on Veterans Day would be nice.

Have you checked out your AFFES exchange at your local VA?  Mine has some pretty good deals on electronics and other things.

Either on Veterans Day or a standard offering everyday. Something additional to incentivize going into a brick and mortar shop in my community vs the simplicity and usually cheaper Amazon.com option(without a discount option...)

Absolutely, you should, as many of your competitors already do, in most shopping categories.  I was surprised to find you don't. Smiley Surprised

Like almost every other company that gives any discount it should be an everyday discount. ID.me has phenomenal discounts and is governmentally used for federal agencies and they also use those databases so whether it be verified by id.me like apple's online store uses or usaa card or both like almost every other store. Without our current servicemembers, veterans or retiree's/honorable discharged servicemembers there would potentially not be a Best Buy store. So just a little "thank you" always goes further than most realize.

I'm amazed that this recommendation hasn't picked up more traction! As a Veteran myself I completely sympathize with the poster's sentiments. A 10 - 15% discount for Veterans on Veteran's Day or, better yet, a regular everday 10 - 15% discount that can be used in conjunction with sales would not just draw more customers, but also be a gesture that communicates that as a company Best Buy honors the sacrifice that so many made in selfless service to afford, represent, protect, and advance the freedoms that allows for companies like Best Buy to exist and flourish.
