Veteran Discount

Status: Tell Us More
by RTW on ‎03-18-2018 12:22 PM

a growing number of companies are offering various discounts e.g. senior citizen, veterans, etc.  Understand senior citizens don't necessarily need discounts, but an Active Duty and Veteran discount would probable draw more customers and therefore more profit while helping us!

Status: Tell Us More

As far as I know we do not plan on adding a Veteran discount benefit at this time, but I would like to hear from others on this idea. Make sure to vote for an idea if you like it.

Senior citizens don't need discounts? Sure they do. So does every other group that feel they're entitled to it. Soon companies will have to apply the discounts across the board to EVERY customer lest one group feel left out. Thing is I do respect the members of our military for obeying their orders and going into harm's way into whatever area they're told to. But at the same time to feel as if you're deserving of a discount while the average Joe Shmoe who also shops at Best Buy isn't is a bit selfish.

I agree with TheJadedGamer.  Senior citizen discount would be great.  All dept stores offer a day a week usually for seniors.  I'm not one, but seniors are on a fixed income generally and do use technology too. When you are retired, you won't want a senior discount too?

I agree with both TheJadedGamer and LisaMaplewood17. Since other stores offer senior discounts, Best Buy should also do this!  Senioers mostly live on a fixed income (be it social security or a pension plan).  I've been retired for 5 yeears.  Therefore, offering discounts would be quite helpful.

I think you need to think American and offer veteran discount because we did have something to do with you having freedom to have this store

I would like to see us offer a Military discount.  As a phone operator, I get calls asking if we offer such a thing and it always makes me feel sad that we don't .  I understand that there might be exclusions based on manufacturers but we need to offer a discount or a miltary appreciation day.  We work for a great American company that was able to open and do all the good things Best Buy has done BECAUSE we live in a county where this freedom is protected by our soldiers. We have these freedoms because men and woman have given their lives fighting for this country.  Maybe that sounds a bit dramatic but I think we should honor them.

Many of our seniors are on a fixed income and as shown by our assured living elearnings they are a fast growing population. If we had a senior shopping day or discount this would encourage those who are on a fixed income to shop here.

I feel more strongly about our military than seniors, even though I am considered a senior at this point (ugh) but I do think we should have appreciation days.  We should give back to those who have given so much.
