I am BEGGING you....Please hire a team of mod setters comprised of individuals that have actually worked in retail. When I left the store today (without the item I was looking for), my husband called and asked me to pick up another item. My response was "I would rather run over my own head with the car than go back in there".  In 30 years of retail I have never seen such a mass fail as the layout of your store. Computers on one side of the store, graphics cards on the complete opposite side paired with (maybe sound cards?)...headphones. Not even near the computers! Couldn't even find sound cards.  The entire layout needs to be reworked remembering that not everyone that comes in is a tech person. sometimes it's a non techie trying to be nice to a loved one.

I remember a time when it was laid out like that. Although I am completely out of my element in tech stores, at least then I wasn't boderline suicidal from frustration when leaving. For now, my hubby will just have to order everything from Newegg.

I'm sorry you feel the setup of this store is not friendly to the customer. I can assure you we are always looking for ways to better our business plan, and that includes revaluating our current store layouts. Thanks for your thoughts on this!

I agree.  I went in and purchased a router a few weeks ago.  I scoured the computer area in vain and could not find any.  I finally asked and they were over near cell phone accessories.

However, hee hee, it was probably a group of mod setters comprised of individuals that have actually worked in retail that made the recommendation to mix of the store the way it is now.

A few years ago all computer items where in the same section.  All home audio was in the same section etc.

It was probably some expert that said you can generate more sales of impulse buys by mixing things around and making people check out more of the store.

At the rate Best Buy is going eventually everything will be paired and paid for by brand sections. Everyone will have their own store-within-a-store (i.e. Samsung, Apple, LG, Sony, etc.) and all of hteir stuff will be in their section - not sure what would happen to the smaller items like routers because I don't see Belkin/Linksys paying for a vendor store-in-a-store so I guess you would have some aisles left over for things like that.

I'm also going to take another second and plug my idea of having aisles in the My Best Buy app! Could've really helped out @TeresaLyon today and @bobberuchi previously and I can guarantee you they aren't the first or last people to feel this way. Interestingly enough, I did notice some random people at the doors at the local store a few months back with tablets and they seemed to be stopping people randomly as they were leaving so I went to see what was up and it turns out they were from Best Buy corporate and they were surveying people on their shopping experience (and/or maybe why they were leaving empty-handed?).

In some other stores, they have an app that will direct you to the location and bin on a nice store map. I'm not going to name the store so as not got my comment modded, but it's something that I found very useful.
