Stop Putting Price Stickers on DVD/Blu-ray Sleeves

Status: Acknowledged

It would be awesome if Best Buy Stores will stop putting price tags on the DVD/Blu-ray sleeves as they are a major pain to remove without ripping the sleeve apart. When ordering movies from sites online (including Best Buy.com), the price stickers are never on the sleeves. Other stores sometimes have stickers on the sleeves as well but they are nowhere as hard to remove as the Best Buy one. Another electronic retailer, Fry's Electronics, puts their price tags on the plastic shrink wrap of a movie instead of the sleeve which I think is an amazing idea when I found out about it. It's just a pain if someone has a movie collection and there's a giant price tag on it that can't be removed

I revisited this idea as I hadn't heard anything definitive, and at this time we are not changing the stickers we apply to media. Thanks for the feedback on this one.

YES! I must definitely agree with this. there has not been too many times ive had a hard time taking a price sticker off after buying a movie but it is annoying when the price sticker messes up the cover of the movie. especially if you're a fellow movie collector like myself and you like to have your movies in somewhat "prestine" condition. Man Indifferent

I up voted this.  However, the thing that annoys me more is the tight security wires on Collector/Gift boxes.  They are usually too tight and dig into and ruin the gift box.

Also, Best Buy should ask studios to produce collector sets that take up as little space as possible and fit in standard shelves.  I have over 1600 DVDs/Blu-rays and storage space is starting to be a problem.  In the future, more of my collection will probably be cloud-base where I'll limit my physical media purchases for only my most favorite movies / TV shows.

It is very simple for the company to switch what kind of price stickers they use. This decision they make is a conscience one. ment to discourage the consumer from removing the "Best Buy" name. so you dont forget where you bought the disc. It is a selfish, marketing deal. They do not care that they sell something with a sticker that essentially ruins the packaging. They only care that you not forget where you got that disc. Go to target....their stickers peel right off.

What's even worse is the giant Store Pickup stickers they put on the sleeves--every time I try to remove these they destroy the slipcover artwork. I wish they'd go back to the plastic bags instead of these awful stickers--or at least put them on the plastic-wrapped blu-ray inside instead of the slipcover!

Please stop putting the white best buy stickers on slipcovers. they are a pain to remove, sometimes staining the slipcovers forever. We all hate it.

This is so annoying -- I just picked up the "Hidden Figures" Blu-ray with a "gatefold" slipcase and of course it has a darn "Best Buy" sticker on it that I can't remove.  Is there any where I can get the slipcase WITHOUT a sticker?

I do hope Best Buy reconsiders, because I feel that it's extra work for them to put the sticker on the cover, and it doesn't seem to serve much purpose. One of the reasons why Best Buy doesn't get as much of my business for movies or shows with slip covers
