I have a unique problem. I need to Turn on a CD player and Start a CD in my house while I am at Work. These two locations are 9 miles away from eachother. I recently visited the Best Buy store in Columbia and asked for advice on this subject. I recieved from three different individuals that there was no technology out that would enable me to acomplish this. A very nice Customer Service Representative did give me a bit of help. She advised me to post an Idea in the Best Buy forums. So here it is... Can a CD player be invented, that could be synced with a Smart Phone, so it could be opperated from at least 9 miles away? If that happens, I would be first in line to buy one! Thanks!
I know of quite a bit of technology that can be used to turn on items such as lights, cameras and even ovens but I have not heard of a CD player that could do that. The closest I can think of would be a bit of a kludge, using your phone to remotely connect to a computer (ala Team Viewer) that is connected as a media server and use that as your content source. But that can be a bit complicated.
Maybe a manufacturer will make such a device, though not sure what Best Buy would be able to do to get one to market when it doesn't exist.
I know there are smart outlets where you could remotely turn on off an electric outlet, but this wouldn't work for your purposes. Thanks for the product suggestion, and I would like to hear from customers if they would like to see this product. I would also suggest posting this in Insignia's forum to see if they want to manufacture such a product. Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.
