Best Buy IdeaX

I want to buy a laptop, and I found the exact one I want on the Best Buy website.

However, right now, it says "Coming Soon" and I can't order it yet.

Two things:

1. I would like to know HOW SOON this item is going to be coming out (is it days, weeks, months?)

2. I would like to be able to enter my email and get a notification when the item is actually available for purchase on the website.

Also, as a side note, I think it's ridiculous I had to sign up for another login/password to be able to post this message, when I already have a Best Buy login. The two aren't connected at all.

Would anyone else like to see these notifications as part of BestBuy.com? Make sure you vote for an idea if you like it.

I really like the idea and I believe the site used to offer such a servcie.  I would like to expand the idea to either have a separate page or tab for each category of the web site that shows only Coming Soon items.  

Example someone may have their eye on a brand new modle of TV coming out from a certain manufacturer.  They could find it quickly on that tab and then have a way to get notified when it is orderable. 

Alternative to the TAB would be to have a special Icon Next to the product in the wed site to give it some bang and make it stick out.

Or in the filters (as they do for games) have a coming soon filter.

I echo the 'HOW SOON?' sentiment. If the availability date is 1 to 2 weeks out I may be inclined to wait. Otherwise I'm going elsewhere (even if shipping charges are involved).

Notifications are also useful (here and in the 'sales alerts' case proposed elsewhere).

Multiple logins are absurd. This login is different from the Reward Zone login. Absurd! It's all one company. Did I mention that it's absurd?
