Ok. As I was reading thru some of the ideas and coments on the forum I got inspired, and I come to this uniqe idea, I think the idea has great potential and its very uniqe, but weather its profitable, I am not sure.
What if, BBY creates a few showrooms (to start), that offers product that is very NEW, the product that is not available to buy just yet. I think the way to do this would be creating some sort of contract with TOP TECH coorporations, kinda what Blockbuster did with the the Movie buisness.
For example if BBY can sell the product one month earlier than everyone else, you see where I am going with this?????
As a consumer myself I can say that I like both these ideas, but I as an employee I have to admit it might not be possible. I would guess that the vast majority of manufacturers would not want their products sold while still in prototype status.
We of course would want to sell every product prior to every other retailer, but I have a feeling that the manufacturers don't allow this to happen.
Any other thoughts on these ideas? Anyone else want to chime in? Remember to vote for the idea if you like it.
Yeah, the protype may not be doable, BUT, I am not talking about pototype ONLY, I am talking about selling before anyone else can, BLOCKBUSTER did it, they had exclusive contract with Movie industirie which allowed them to sell their product before NETFLIX, or any other ON_DEMAND industrie for years.
ATT&T, had a simmilar deal with APPLE selling iPhones. Although, ATT&T had Very Exclusive deal compare to BLOCKBUSTER, It could be a deal changer if BBY can sell some of the product earlier.
Imagine how BBY would become valuble all the sudden if they could get Exclusive contract with Microsoft or Dell, HP, Lenovo or any other major retailer. Exept for Apple ofcourse.
It can be done, but I'm not sure how likely the manufacturers are to go with something like that. I know we've got an exclusive on the new Dyson DC41 Animal Complete until October, but I've never seen it in place for computers or TVs. Guess it just depends on how much it will cost Best Buy and the desire from the manufacturers.
