Rollback passphrase requirement

Status: Acknowledged
by on ‎07-17-2014 09:05 AM

Every since Best Buy implemented this new passphrase concept that requires you to use a super-long password, my login has yet to work.  I've reset it numerous times and it sends a reset link to my phone which I click on and key in a new password and BestBuy.com still says my password is invalid.  Best Buy is creating barriers between customers that want to spend money and them having access to product and that's NEVER a good thing.  Just my two cents. I understand security and all but before this I never had any issues.

Best Buy appears to be having system problems.  I reset my password at least seven times and I would go to log in and it would say the password is incorrect.  That prompted me to have to call into Best Buy and after being transferred 3 times (keep in mind I'm already frustrated) they ask me to verify a bunch of information and then I got to a point where I could log in but it would not let use my Rewards certificate stating "Sorry, our system is currently unable to accept Certificates. You may continue the checkout process now without applying your Certificates or wait until later when you can apply your Certificates."  At the end of the day I was simply trying to purchase a hard drive and the average customer would not jump thru all of these hoops to shop with you.  You would've simply handed that sale over to a local competitor (i.e. Staples, OfficeMax, etc.) or an online competitor. And although Best Buy price matches, it's becoming a more common thing for retailers to price match each other as the retail sales slump is affecting everyone. Going back to the phone call, 15 minutes later and they still don't know whats wrong.
