I think that Best Buy should have a accidental on all electronics, with TVs included. The new TVs are pretty light and can easily be moved.I recently purchased a Samsung 32' LED smart TV and bought the 5 year warrenty and it was broken by kids in my neighborhood playing ball outside. It was broken by no one in my family and no one that I know and I think that is unfair to me because the warrenty did not cover it..I wouldnt mind paying extra for the accidental coverage if I had to..
I guess you needed no fault ! *car insurance joke*
It's a tricky business for sure and there are many here who have had similar issues ( some even at larger situations ) . I've had a 55 inch get cracked from a friend of mine being a little too into a wii game once...yeah.... he isn't allow to wii bowl with me anymore... LOL...
Sadly though just like in school the one bad apple out there makes it so the rest of the class also can't have the good priveleges. This is probably why there isn't more coverage on stuff like this. You see every time a retailer has to accept a return on a product ( lightweight as you put it or not ) it costs them a lot of more money than most consumers realize.
I would LOVe to see some sort of no fault warranty though...even if it just paid partial.
Some day, there will be an electronics Insurance company out there that everyone will have. Then you can exchange Insurance information with the neighborhood kid's parents. Not sure if Bestbuy would be interested in it though.
This I think could be categorized as a horrible idea.
To try to hold any company accountable for the customers handling of a procduct.
I have seen people drop their ice cream in McDonalds and expect the store to give them a new one and I am shocked that people won't take accountability for what they have done.
No this is a horrible idea. Best Buy would go into bankruptcy if they did this.
A tablet cannot even begin to be compared to a TV. First, and largest reason, being that a tablet is meant to move when used, a TV sits there.
That aside, there's no reason that your TV falling over should covered by anything other than bad luck, if it wasn't an accident, your renters/homeowners insurance should cover it.
