Remove Samsung Section

As a long time consumer at BestBuy I have seen the transition from many departments where there could be plenty of items to a now crowded area for computers/etc and a huge select space jus for "samsung" products. I mean..really? I'm surprised Apple doesn't have a larger area if you are going to do this!

At first even I thought the idea would be worth going into. However, now I see that it really and truly isn't work the space used. I do have to start questioning Best Buy if the profits from the section is that high really? Cause at least out where I lve you rarely see people go into the section.

So my suggestion is to just remolve the entire department and redistribute the departments respectively. Go back to the old system!

Given we just established this partnership with Samsung, I can't imagine us removing this area anytime soon. Thanks for your thoughts on this!

plus now there is also a microsoft store in some locations... It's just following a trend other companies  have taken with leased space in stores.

i agree with this idea, since major corporations are flooding a big box store, it'll end up becoming a mini-mall of major corporations.  if any more companies decide to set up a store-within-a-store, it'll end up looking like a trade show.

I'm agreeing with everyone else here. Having been to my Best Buy store more recently, the Samsung employees can best be described as the Direct TV employees of Best Buy Mobile. As soon as you go anywhere near that section of the store they're ready to pounce to tell you all the "short-comings" of your iPhone (although they had no problems copying it on the S6/S6 Edge). The more concerning part of this is that the uniforms that they wear are not all that different from Best Buy's so a lot of customers probably take everything they say to heart not knowing that they DON'T actually work for Best Buy.

Best Buy should be more aligned with their own vision versus letting other vendors and manufacturer's sell them on theirs. What is so different about Samsung that justifies them having their own section? Their phones run Android...just like 90% of the other OEMs on the market. Their compuers run Windows ...just like 85% of the other OEMs on the market. They sell smart TVs just like 100% of the other OEMs out there - yet Best Buy is allowing them to purchase crazy amounts of real estate in their stores - essentially converting Best Buy's into Samsung stores.  And it's obviously rubbing off on the employees because when you to go phones, tablets, TVs or appliances they are like Samsung-obssessed like it's the only thing they know how to sell. For me that's a turn-off. There's nothing wrong with having a preference but when you're costantly hard-seling me on something I'm not interested in, I'll go shop online and get what I want.

As someone said earlier, this is going to create a flea-market-like environment within Best Buy of vendor shops staffed with vendors that where uniforms suspiciously close to what an ACTUAL Best Buy employee wears and let's be honest if I asked a Samsung employee "what do you think of the LG G3" or a Microsoft employee "what do you think of the iPad?" the chance of them giving me a honest, unbiased answer is the same as my chances of hitting the lottery.
