Reinstating @Gamer type coupons for Gamer's Club Unlocked members

You could do it as a once a month e-mail sent out to GCU members. They could be some of the usual ones from the former @Gamer magazine(that ended in May 2014 Smiley Frustrated ) as yet another perk of being a GCU member. You could have the usual ones that became(unfortunately) a staple of the magazine's coupons towards the end like the extra percentage off pre-owned coupon.

As it stands the Gamer's Club offers that the company is releasing as of late are nowhere near on par with the offers we used to get.

Right now the ONLY Gamer's Club offer on the page I have bookmarked for it is 50% off a headset audio controller for the PS4:

Not only that but when these Gamer's Club offers pop up if they're for games and are a flat $X off said game(s) then the coupon and the current 20% discount perk don't stack correctly.

So how about it? Bring back the @Gamer styled coupons to stack with the 20% game discount? It might actually spur me to buy something gaming wise from Best Buy for the first time in 2015.

Who else would like to see GCU members receive coupons similar to what was offered in @Gamer magazine?

Sounds good but I think they would have to raise the membership cost of the GCU.  With all the discounts already available if you pre-order a game their profit margin cannot be very much.

I have no idea what cost is for a $60 game but I am betting it close to $25 to $30

I am really happy with the $10 certificate I got for a pre-order.

The coupon idea would be a good fit for hardware accessories.  high quailty controllers mice, head sets etc...

I very rarely, if ever, pre-order games at this point. I have a 33qt storage bin filled almost to the top with games from my backlog on JUST the PS3 as it is. But for the right price I would probably add to that already insane backlog even further. I'm not saying they should bring back the coupons for the newest of the hot titles. But using them to fire sale some year or two old stuff that is just taking up valuable shelf space wouldn't be that bad of an idea. Maybe they could even get the publishers to offset some of those costs. It just seems like when they upped the price of GCU and then eliminated the coupons they used to do, the good sale prices went along with them.

I realize the last comment made on the Topic was almost 5 months ago but personally, I loved receiving the @Gamer Magazine and always used the coupons (on most months, I would estimate I used 5 of the 8 coupons printed in the magazine).  I will say that since @Gamer stopped being produced/circulated, my spending at BestBuy and on BestBuy.com have substantially decreased.  The addition of the 20% off console games is great, however, I really did enjoy the the Coupons and wish BBY-Gaming would take a serious look at reinstating the circulation of the magazine and the perks.

Addendum to the above:  I would be 100% behind a (x monthly) Digital Copy of @Gamer with the Coupons, as well.  I just really liked getting the hard copy magazine and most of my gamer friends feel/felt the same way when it was discontinued.

Sadly I guess the company decided that the 20% discount on all new games was an adequate substitution for the @gamer magazine and the coupons in the magazine. What they fail to realize though is that before @gamer was a part of the GCU membership Best Buy used to have their own coupons they allowed you to print up directly from their website to use in-store that gave similar discounts like the @gamer ones. Of course those coupons ended up sometimes giving away games for FREE(just like the @gamer ones did on occasion). Usually it was stuff like Sudoku Ball Detective on DS, Fairytale Fights and I think some Nerf game(that came with a Nerf gun), but free is still good even if the games are meh at best. But most times the coupons were for older titles that had likely seen their last full priced sales months earlier and were just taking up space on the shelves at that point. So it definitely helped spur some sales by discounting them via coupon. I do hope the company will strongly consider bringing back coupons of some sort as an added perk because like you I've seen my purchasing at Best Buy slip considerably since this program was retooled.
