Please Stop De-listing items n BB.com when physical stores have excess stock

Status: Acknowledged

Finding items from BestBuy can be a pain when the item get de-listed from BB.com since you can no longer use the site to search local stores. This has been a consistant problem with video games & it happens alot on titles that are specifically part of @gamer coupon promos and/or Gamer's club exclusive coupons.

Yes, you can still call the store but since you have de-listed the item a non-BB savvy customer may not know how to get a hold of the SKU # or the rep who answers the call may have little to no knowledge of the item that is being requested. There's a big difference in the vanilla version and GOTY version but non gamers won't have a clue as to what GOTY means.

I see there's a way to research de-listed items being customer reviews but that only gets you the SKU # not the ability to look it up in stores. As a customer who drops into 7-10 different BestBuy's a month I see how big this issue is and too mahy times some stores have 2-3 stacks of items that are de-listed. Since it makes sense for you to sell them I'd assume allowing a cusomer to find the item would need to be made a priority.

I thinks it's been suggested before but a system update in general is probably past due.

I agree. What's the point of delisting items in the first place? I'm sure BB doesn't have to re-use skus.

I agree as well!

Definitely stop delisting. Having to bug your employees to do a search for a particular item is a pain. Especially if they don't have it and need to search surrounding stores!

Agreed... Especially annoying when something is delisted a week when there is a good deal on it, then relisted when it is over...

As someone who also uses BestBuy.com to find out if a local store has what I want in stock I can completely relate to this idea. We're not going to list products on BestBuy.com that we don't carry at all anymore, but it does seem like we could list items that are in-store only. Does anyone else have any further feedback on this idea? Remember to vote for an idea if you like it.

 I like to use the website to know if a store has a particular item, especially if that was the purpose of my trip.

Agreed, this would be very helpful. Even if you can't order ship-to-store it would still be nice to know if it's at my local store.

As a customer and an employee, I use bestbuy.com to look up item SKUs and other information about products on a regular basis, and rely on the website including accurate and complete information to be able to find information for both myself and my clients to be able to make a purchase efficiently. Until there is zero stock of a particular item in EVERY location and sales channel, I believe items should be listed on the site with a notation that it may not be available in all locations or is in-store only.

I do agree with removing products that are not carried anymore - such as Space Jam on VHS - to avoid confusion.

@Agent

You maybe the righ person to ask

There's items the disappear on BB.com but can be located on the BB review area once there the SKU is available. Are store reps able to look up stuff de-listed with the SKU or is it still a no go.

Right now customers are scrambling to locate the clearanced Gaems portable gaming environments. At a $250 pre-clearance price they were overpriced but the 50% off clearance seemed to be the target price point $125 or $115 depending on the model.

This is the only info I've been able to located
